Earnings Preview: What To Expect From Crown Castle's Report

Delaware-based Crown Castle Inc. (CCI) owns, operates, and leases shared communications infrastructure that is geographically dispersed throughout the U.S., including towers and other structures, such as rooftops, and miles of fiber primarily supporting small cell networks and fiber solutions. The company has a market cap of $29.3 billion and is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, after the market closes. 

Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $1.16 on a diluted basis, up 3.6% from $1.12 in the year-ago quarter. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s EPS estimates in each of its last four quarters.

For fiscal 2026, analysts project the company’s EPS to be $4.38, up marginally from $4.36 in fiscal 2025. Moreover, its EPS is expected to rise by roughly 7.5% year over year (YoY) to $4.71 in fiscal 2027.

CCI stock has fallen 28.6% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 15% rise and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLRE) 1.1% decline during the same time frame.

On July 23, CCI stock fell 3.8% following the release of its seemingly better-than-expected Q2 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter amounted to $1 billion, surpassing the Street’s forecasts. Additionally, its adjusted FFO also came in at $1.13, topping the consensus estimates. Despite the FFO beat, the company’s site rental revenue declined to $967 million, mainly due to $49 million from DISH terminations and $5 million from Spring cancellations. CCI expects its full-year FFO to be in the range of $4.53 to $4.65 per share. 

Analysts are somewhat optimistic on CCI, with the stock having a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Among the 23 analysts covering the stock, 12 are recommending a “Strong Buy,” one recommends a “Moderate Buy,” and 10 suggest a “Hold.” CCI’s average analyst price target is $92.67, indicating an upside of 34.5% from the current price point.
