Allegion Buys Overly Door, Strengthens Product Offerings

Allegion plc ALLE recently completed the acquisition of custom specialty doors provider — Overly Door Company. The financial terms of the transaction have been kept under wraps.

Allegion’s shares inched down 0.4% yesterday to close the trading session at $153.67.

Headquartered in Greensburg, PA, Overly specializes in manufacturing custom and pre-engineered specialty doors and windows for acoustic, bullet-resistant, blast, vault security and radiation shielding purposes. The company’s solutions are used by a strong customer base across commercial and institutional sectors.

Acquisition Rationale

The latest buyout is in sync with Allegion’s policy of acquiring businesses to expand its market share and customer base. The inclusion of Overly’s expertise in high-security door products, coupled with its strong innovation capabilities, will enable Allegion to boost its hollow metal doors and frames portfolio. It will also help ALLE expand its presence across government, healthcare and education markets.

Overly will be incorporated into Allegion’s Americas segment and will be headed by its senior vice president, Dave Ilardi.

Acquisitions are an essential aspect of Allegion's growth strategy. In March 2026, ALLE acquired DCI Hollow Metal through one of its subsidiaries. The acquisition strengthened its core mechanical portfolio and the business has been incorporated into the Americas segment.

Also, in August 2025, the company acquired Brisant and UAP Group Limited. The addition of Brisant’s residential security solutions portfolio enabled ALLE to boost its presence in the U.K. residential market while complementing its non-residential portfolio. The addition of UAP’s comprehensive portfolio of door hardware, backed by about 200 patents, trademarks and registered designs, strengthened Allegion’s presence in the UK.

Zacks Rank, Price Performance and Estimate Revisions

Allegion, with approximately $13.1 billion market capitalization, currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). The company is benefiting from stable demand for residential and non-residential products across healthcare, government, hospitality and retail markets. Rising adoption of electronic security solutions also bodes well. However, soft demand across the mechanical market is a concern.
