Earnings quality: Net income was substantially influenced by unrealized gains on equity securities, primarily Bio-Rad’s Sartorius AG investment: $716.4 million in Q2 and $1,775.6 million in the first half, compared with $286.4 million and $1,102.3 million, respectively, in 2018.
