Cotton Rallying on Thursday Despite Weaker Export Sales

Cotton futures are trading with contracts 113 to 195 points higher across the nearbys on Thursday. Crude oil is up 50 cents per barrel, with the US dollar index $0.049 lower.

Export Sales showed a total of just 95,726 RB in 2026/27 sales in the week of 8/20. That was a 46.62% drop from the same week last year. New crop sales totaled 39,600 RB. Shipments totaled 181,025 RB in that week, which was 60.69% above the same week last year.

The Seam reported sales of 96 bales on Wednesday at an average price of 80.26 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index was down 60 points on August 26 at 97.60 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were unchanged on 8/26, with the certified stocks level at 66,327 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by 143 points last week to 69.62 cents/lb. It will be updated later today.

Oct 26 Cotton  is at 88.9, up 113 points,

Dec 26 Cotton  is at 91.08, up 194 points,

Mar 27 Cotton  is at 93.02, up 195 points
