Here's What to Expect From Oracle’s Next Earnings Report

Based in Austin, Texas, Oracle Corporation (ORCL) is a global technology company that provides cloud infrastructure, database software, and enterprise applications. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $446.3 billion, and its products help businesses manage data, run operations, automate workflows, and use artificial intelligence to improve productivity, decision-making, security, and overall business performance.

ORCL is scheduled to report its Q2 earnings soon, with analysts expecting diluted EPS of $1.57, down 19.5% from $1.95 in the year-ago quarter. However, ORCL has beaten Wall Street’s EPS estimates in each of the past four quarters, demonstrating a consistent track record of earnings outperformance.

For fiscal 2027, analysts expect the company to report EPS of $6.72, up 6.5% from $6.31 in fiscal 2026. Moreover, its EPS is expected to increase by another 37.1% to $9.21 in fiscal 2028.

ORCL stock has plunged 48.5% over the past 52 weeks, substantially underperforming both the S&P 500 Index ($SPX), which returned 12.4%, and the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK), which climbed 26.5% during the same period.

Oracle’s slower sales growth, persistent cash burn, and limited cash runway have raised concerns about its financial sustainability, with potential capital raises posing a risk of shareholder dilution. These concerns have weighed on its performance relative to the broader market over the past year.

On the bright side, Oracle announced plans to pursue FedRAMP Class D certification on Oct. 27, for its multicloud AI database services, potentially opening new opportunities in the U.S. government and public sector by enabling regulated workloads across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. The move could expand Oracle’s reach in secure cloud and AI services, helping public sector customers modernize databases and integrate AI with existing data. Investor optimism appeared to follow the announcement, with ORCL shares jumping as much as 10.7% in the following trading session.

That said, analysts remain bullish on ORCL, with the stock carrying a consensus "Strong Buy" rating. Among the 43 analysts covering the stock, 31 rate it a "Strong Buy," one recommends a "Moderate Buy," 10 assign a "Hold" rating, and one rates it a "Strong Sell." The average price target of $240.66 implies a potential upside of 66.5% from the current share price.
