Iron Mountain Expands Saudi Presence With AI Digital Partnership

Iron Mountain IRM is strengthening its presence in the Middle East through a new partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Social Development Bank. The agreement will support the bank’s digital transformation by using Iron Mountain’s InSight DXP platform to modernize document-intensive SME lending processes with AI-powered intelligent document processing.

The platform will automatically classify documents, extract and validate key information, and flag missing or inconsistent data, while human reviewers focus mainly on exceptions. This should help the Social Development Bank reduce manual work, improve data quality and governance, and accelerate financing decisions for its beneficiaries.

The project also highlights Iron Mountain’s broader shift from traditional records management toward higher-value digital and AI-enabled information management services. The initial rollout will focus on selected SME lending workflows, with the potential to expand across additional products, document types and business processes over time.

IRM: Final Outlook

The partnership adds to Iron Mountain’s growing footprint in the Middle East, following other regional initiatives such as its strategic partnership with stc Bahrain. For IRM, this could deepen its presence in Saudi Arabia and strengthen its position in AI-driven digital transformation.

It could also open the door to more enterprise and government contracts while expanding recurring digital-services revenues. Over time, such projects could support IRM’s growth beyond its traditional storage business and improve the mix of higher-value technology-enabled services in its portfolio.
