Here's What to Expect From Texas Pacific Land Corporation’s Next Earnings Report

Texas Pacific Land Corporation (TPL) is a Dallas, Texas-based land and resource management company with roughly 882,000 surface acres, primarily in the Permian Basin. It generates revenue from oil and gas royalties, easements, land sales, and surface-related services, while its Water Services segment provides sourcing, treatment, and disposal solutions for energy operators. The company has a market capitalization of $23.02 billion.

The company is expected to report its third-quarter results for fiscal 2026 on Nov. 4, after the market closes. Ahead of the earnings release, Wall Street analysts expect its bottom line to grow.

Analysts expect TPL to report diluted earnings of $2.35 per share for Q3, up 33.5% year over year (YOY). The company has exceeded consensus estimates in three of the four trailing quarters. For full fiscal year 2026, Wall Street analysts expect TPL’s diluted EPS to grow 27.4% to $8.88, followed by an 8.6% improvement to $9.64 in fiscal 2027.

TPL’s modest 8.1% gain over the past 52 weeks reflects strong Permian royalty production and elevated oil prices, but the 24.1% decline over the past six months is mainly a valuation and expectations reset after results. Meanwhile, the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has increased by 14.4% and 7.4% over the same periods, respectively. Therefore, the stock has underperformed the broader market over these periods.

We now compare TPL’s performance with that of its sector. The State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) has gained 53.9% over the past 52 weeks and 19.5% over the past six months. As a result, the stock has underperformed its sector over these periods.

This land-commanding oil & gas giant has turned its attention to powering data centers, opening a new revenue stream. In 2025, the company partnered with Bolt Data & Energy, Inc. to develop large-scale data-center campuses and supporting infrastructure on TPL land, investing $50 million in Bolt.

This year, it became a part of Chevron Corporation’s (CVX) Project Kilby by providing surface acreage and brackish-water resources to support a customer data center. In exchange, TPL received cash and exclusive rights to source aquifer-derived water for the facility and related project elements.

In Q2, TPL achieved record results, supported by record oil and gas royalty daily production and produced water royalty volumes, as well as unhedged commodity production that allows it to capture the effects of higher oil prices. Its free cash flow reached a record of $155.5 million.

Wall Street analysts remain bullish on TPL’s future. Among the three analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is “Moderate Buy.” The rating configuration has stayed roughly the same over the past three months. The stock has two “Strong Buys” and one “Hold.” The mean price target of $445.67 implies a 33.6% upside from current levels, while the Street-high price target of $639 implies 91.5% upside.
