Are Wall Street Analysts Predicting West Pharmaceutical Stock Will Climb or Sink?

West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (WST) is a leading global manufacturer of packaging components and delivery systems for injectable drugs and healthcare products. Headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, the company designs and produces containment solutions, primary packaging, cartridge systems, prefilled syringes, and drug delivery devices for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. It has a market capitalization of $24.63 billion

The stock has seen solid investor sentiment, driven by strong demand for its high‑value injectable packaging and delivery systems, especially for GLP‑1 drugs and biologics. Over the past 52 weeks, West Pharmaceutical’s stock has gained 43.1%, while it has risen 27.2% year-to-date (YTD). The company’s shares reached a 52-week high of $386 on July 23, but are down 9.4% from that level.

Meanwhile, the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has gained 18.7% and 12.1% over the same periods, respectively, indicating the stock has outperformed the broader market. Next, we compare the stock with its own sector. The State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) has increased 26.6% over the past 52 weeks and 12.1% YTD. As a result, the stock has outperformed its sector.

This medical equipment maker has been reaping the gains from the rising popularity of GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, which require injection pens to deliver the therapies to patients. West Pharmaceutical’s Q2 net sales increased by 13.8% year-over-year (YOY) to $872.30 million, with High-Value Product (HVP) components net sales rising by 19.4% to $424.10 million. 

West Pharmaceutical’s CEO Eric Green highlighted generic GLP‑1 drugs, especially across Asia, as a new growth engine. CFO Bob McMahon added that demand is broad‑based, and the company now expects both GLP‑1 and non‑GLP‑1 HVP components to grow at a high‑teens pace this year.

For the current quarter, Wall Street analysts expect West Pharmaceutical’s EPS to increase 11.2% YOY to $2.18 on a diluted basis. EPS is expected to increase 22.5% annually to $8.93 for fiscal 2026, followed by a 10.8% improvement to $9.89 in fiscal 2027. The company has a solid history of surpassing consensus estimates, topping them in all four trailing quarters.

Among the 17 Wall Street analysts covering West Pharmaceutical’s stock, the consensus is a “Strong Buy.” That’s based on 14 “Strong Buy” ratings, one “Moderate Buy,” and two “Holds.” The ratings configuration has become less bullish than one month ago, with 14 “Strong Buy” ratings, down from 15.

Last month, BNP Paribas analysts initiated coverage of West Pharmaceutical’s stock with a bullish “Outperform” rating and a $447 price target. 

West Pharmaceutical’s mean price target of $401.31 indicates a 14.7% upside over current market prices. Moreover, the Street-high price target of $459 implies a potential upside of 31.2%.
