Globe Life Earnings Preview: What to Expect

Headquartered in McKinney, Texas, Globe Life Inc. (GL) provides life insurance and supplemental health coverage, primarily serving lower- and middle-income families. Valued at nearly $12.6 billion, the insurer offers term and whole life policies, Medicare supplements, accident, cancer and critical illness coverage and final expense insurance.

The next test for Globe Life comes on Wednesday, Oct. 21, when the company is scheduled to report its Q3 FY2026 results after the market closes. Analysts anticipate diluted EPS of $4.87, up 1.3% from the year-ago quarter. However, the modest increase comes with a caveat. Globe Life missed EPS estimates in three of the past four quarters.

Looking beyond the immediate earnings, Wall Street expects diluted EPS of $15.70 for FY2026, implying year-over-year (YOY) growth of 8.1%. The FY2027 forecast calls for EPS of $16.49, representing a 5% increase from the prior year.

Globe Life’s shares have given investors plenty to watch, gaining 20.3% over the past 52 weeks and beating the S&P 500 Index ($SPX), which advanced 16%. The lead has held in 2026 as well. Globe Life’s shares are up 17.4%, compared with a 14.1% gain for the benchmark.

The comparison looks even more favorable against the financial sector. The State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) has risen 2.6% over the past 52 weeks and is marginally lower in 2026.

Behind that share-price strength is a health insurance business benefiting from several growth drivers. Rising healthcare spending, robust demand for Medicare Supplement coverage, rate increases, and an expanding distribution network are helping Globe Life build momentum. In Q2 FY2026, total revenue climbed 8% YOY, while net income rose 13.8%.

In response to the stronger performance, management has raised its full-year 2026 net operating earnings guidance to $15.55–$15.95 per diluted share, reflecting improved life underwriting margins, robust health premium growth, and higher excess investment income.

Wall Street's outlook remains favorable, with GL stock carrying an overall “Moderate Buy” rating. Among 15 analysts covering the stock, eight recommend “Strong Buy,” two assign “Moderate Buy,” while five maintain “Hold” ratings.

Against that backdrop, GL stock has an average analyst price target of $190.36, representing potential upside of 16%, while the Street-High target of $225 implies a gain of 37.1% from current levels.
