Biogen shares jumped 3.5% in premarket trading on Oct. 12, after JPMorgan Chase (JPM) upgraded the stock to “Overweight” from “Neutral” and raised its price target from $210 to $300. The upgrade reflected growing optimism about Biogen’s drug pipeline, including upcoming Phase 3 data for felzartamab and litifilimab, and the potential for pipeline progress to accelerate earnings growth through 2030.

Adding to this positive outlook, on September 16, 2026, Biogen and Eisai Co., Ltd. (ESALF) announced that Japan had approved LEQEMBI Pen, a subcutaneous formulation of Leqembi, for the treatment of early Alzheimer’s disease. The approval expands the drug’s administration options and could improve convenience for patients, supporting its commercial potential. Together, the regulatory milestone and growing optimism about Biogen’s pipeline strengthen the company’s outlook, although the financial impact will depend on commercial adoption and clinical progress.

Analysts remain cautiously bullish on BIIB, with a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating. Of the 34 analysts covering the stock, 20 recommend a “Strong Buy,” two suggest a “Moderate Buy,” and 12 rate it a “Hold.” The average analyst price target of $239.19 represents a 4.3% premium to the current share price.
