TTMI's Defense Pipeline Strengthens: Is Long-Term Growth Ahead?

TTM Technologies TTMI is well positioned to capitalize on rising defense spending, supported by an expanding Aerospace & Defense (A&D) backlog, new program wins and investments in advanced manufacturing capabilities. Growing demand for advanced interconnect products and integrated electronics supports long-term growth opportunities.

TTMI's A&D revenues increased 14.2% year over year to $382.8 million in the second quarter of 2026, accounting for 37% of total sales. Strong demand across defense programs helped A&D book-to-bill reach 1.3, lifting program backlog to $1.7 billion from $1.5 billion a year earlier. A&D segment operating income increased to $63.9 million from $48.1 million.

The company's qualified strategic pipeline exceeded $7 billion, highlighting potential opportunities across missile defense, surveillance and next-generation military technologies. Recent bookings related to Golden Dome, APS-153 maritime surveillance radar and ATP Sensor System further strengthen its growth prospects.

TTMI's Syracuse Ultra-HDI facility is expected to begin ramping production in the third quarter of 2026, with full capacity targeted for 2028. This expansion should strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and support future defense contracts. Management anticipates low-to-mid-teens A&D revenue growth in 2026.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate indicates 50.88% year-over-year growth in TTMI's total revenues for 2026, reflecting strong growth expectations across its business segments. Management anticipates low-to-mid-teens A&D revenue growth in 2026. If the company successfully converts its sizable A&D pipeline into confirmed bookings and production, defense-related demand could provide a strong foundation for sustainable long-term revenue growth.

How Do Competitors Stack Up Against TTMI?

TTM Technologies faces stiff competition in the Aerospace & Defense market from Curtiss-Wright Corporation CW and Mercury Systems MRCY. These companies are strengthening their capabilities in advanced defense electronics, mission-critical computing, RF technologies and manufacturing solutions to capitalize on increasing defense spending.

Curtiss-Wright continues to benefit from strong demand for defense electronics and embedded computing solutions. In the second quarter of 2026, its Defense Electronics segment reported revenues of $246 million, down 3% year over year, primarily due to the timing of tactical communications equipment sales. However, CW’s new orders increased $108 million, driven by strong demand for ground defense equipment, including turret technologies and tactical communications products.

Mercury Systems is benefiting from increasing demand for mission-critical processing, radar and electronic warfare technologies. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, revenues increased 6.1% year over year to approximately $290 million. MRCY’s bookings surged 93.1% to $660 million, while backlog increased 38.4% to more than $1.9 billion, reflecting strong demand across aerospace and defense programs.
