What to Know as Guggenheim Ups Its Price Target on MongoDB Stock

MongoDB (MDB) shares have nearly doubled since early April, but a senior Guggenheim analyst, Howard Ma, believes the rally is not at all out of steam just yet. In a research note this morning, Ma maintained a “Buy” rating on MDB and raised his price objective rather aggressively to $560, indicating potential for another 30% upside from current levels.

Note that MongoDB stock is currently exchanging hands at about $440, up significantly from $400 at the start of this year.

Guggenheim Expects MongoDB to Report a Strong Q2

Guggenheim’s heightened optimism centers on accelerating usage trends for Atlas, the company’s fully managed cloud database service.

“We expect MongoDB to report F2Q27 Atlas growth of 29%, guide F3Q to +26% vs. consensus +23% and raise full-year guidance by at least 200 bps to +26% at the midpoint,” Ma told clients.

According to Ma, field checks and consumption metrics indicate that workload expansion among existing enterprise clients is outpacing earlier forecasts, driving higher recurring revenue durability.

Note that Barchart also currently holds an “88% BUY” opinion on MDB stock, signaling technical momentum also favors continued upside ahead.

What Else Made Ma Raise Price Target for MDB Shares

Enterprise demand for flexible document-based data architectures continues to scale rather quickly as organizations modernize their core IT stacks and migrate workloads away from legacy relational databases.

And as macro headwinds in enterprise software spend gradually subside, major cloud hyperscalers are reporting healthier consumption growth — a tide that would further boost MongoDB’s revenue visibility.

In his report, the Guggenheim analyst also cited MongoDB’s positioning at the forefront of generative artificial intelligence (AI) deployments as a reason to own the stock.

As next-gen AI workloads transition from early developer experimentation into full production environments, MongoDB shares are strongly positioned to capture high-margin software spend, he concluded.

MongoDB Remains Buy-Rated Among Wall Street Firms

Heading into Aug. 18, Wall Street analysts had a consensus “Strong Buy” rating on MDB shares, with a mean price target of $417.

However, it is reasonable to expect MongoDB’s quarterly results on Sept. 1 to trigger a wave of price target hikes much like Guggenheim’s in the weeks ahead.
