MRVL stock has been on a torrid run heading into the company's next earnings report due later this month, surging 23% in the past month. Shares remain in the middle of their volatile 52-week range of $61.44 to $329.88, reflecting the stock's dramatic swings amid shifting AI-chip sentiment.

By comparison, the S&P 500 Information Technology Sector Index ($SRIT) has climbed roughly 21% year-to-date (YTD) in 2026, a strong showing amid the broader AI rally. Marvell stock has been notably more volatile than its own sector, alternating between sharp AI-driven rallies and steep pullbacks tied to shifting hyperscaler demand expectations.

Marvell Reports Q1 Results

In its first-quarter earnings report posted on May 27, Marvell showed record revenue of $2.42 billion, up 28% year-over-year (YOY), with both its data center and communications segments growing significantly. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.80, topping estimates and extending Marvell's streak of consistent quarterly beats.

Non-GAAP net income reached $718 million, supported by a 58.9% non-GAAP gross margin and a 35.0% non-GAAP operating margin. Operating cash flow hit $638.8 million, while cash and cash equivalents climbed to $3.84 billion, bolstered by a $2 billion preferred stock issuance that strengthened Marvell's balance sheet ahead of continued AI-related investment and acquisition integration.

For Q2 fiscal 2027, management guided revenue to $2.7 billion plus or minus 5%, implying roughly 35% YOY growth, alongside non-GAAP EPS guidance of $0.93. Executives raised their full-year fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2028 outlooks, citing exceptional AI-related bookings and accelerating data-center demand, with fiscal 2028 data-center revenue expected to grow approximately 55% YOY as Marvell's custom silicon and optical interconnect businesses continue scaling with hyperscale AI infrastructure buildouts. Marvell is set to publish its Q2 2027 results on Aug. 27.

Marvell Earnings Preview

Wall Street enters Marvell's upcoming earnings report with high expectations, projecting EPS of $0.65 based on eight analyst estimates ranging from $0.64 to $0.68. That figure would mark a solid 30% jump from the $0.50 posted in the same quarter last year, reflecting continued confidence in Marvell's AI-driven data-center momentum.

Looking further out, analysts are even more bullish on Marvell's full-year fiscal 2027 performance, forecasting EPS of $3.07 based on 13 estimates, with projections ranging from $2.82 to $3.23. That would represent a striking 42% YOY growth rate compared to $2.16 in fiscal 2026, underscoring Wall Street's expectation that Marvell's custom silicon, optical interconnect, and AI accelerator businesses will keep compounding at an accelerated pace heading into next year.
