Is Wall Street Bullish or Bearish on TransDigm Group Stock?

Cleveland, Ohio-based TransDigm Group Incorporated (TDG) is an aerospace manufacturer that designs, produces, and services aircraft components and systems. Its products include actuators, controls, pumps, valves, switches, cockpit displays, passenger safety equipment, and other components used across commercial and military aircraft worldwide. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $66.7 billion.

Shares of this leading aerospace company have considerably underperformed the broader market over the past year. TDG has declined 14.6% over this period, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied 18.7%. Also, TDG has plunged 9.2% so far this year, underperforming the S&P 500’s 12.1% year-to-date gain.

Narrowing the comparison, TDG has considerably underperformed the iShares U.S. Aerospace & Defense ETF (ITA), which has climbed 18.2% over the past year and 10.1% year-to-date.

On Aug. 4, TransDigm Group reported its fiscal Q3 2026 earnings, with shares declining marginally as investors digested the results. Net sales grew 22.5% to $2.74 billion, driven by double-digit growth across all three major market channels. Moreover, adjusted EPS rose 13.2% to $10.87 compared with the prior-year quarter.

TransDigm Group raised its fiscal 2026 guidance, now expecting net sales of $10.47 billion to $10.55 billion, adjusted EPS of $40.62 to $41.46, and EBITDA As Defined of $5.49 billion to $5.55 billion. The guidance excludes any contribution from the pending $1.07 billion acquisition of Prince & Izant.

For the current fiscal year ending in September 2026, analysts project TDG’s diluted EPS to increase 8.7% to $38.81. TDG has surpassed consensus EPS estimates in each of the past four quarters, demonstrating consistent performance.

Among the 21 analysts covering TDG stock, the consensus is “Moderate Buy,” based on 11 “Strong Buys” and 10 “Holds.”

TDG’s configuration is more bearish than it was a month ago, when the stock had 13 “Strong Buy” recommendations.

On August 24, BMO Capital analyst Michael Goldie maintained a “Buy” rating on TransDigm Group, with a $1,525 price target, citing manageable legislative risks, strong demand, and attractive valuation.

The mean price target of $1,521.37 implies 26% upside from TDG’s current share price, while the Street-high target of $1,972 suggests 63.4% upside.
