KLIC Up 93.6% in a Year: Should Investors Bet on the Stock Now?

Kulicke and Soffa Industries KLIC shares have surged 93.6% over the past year compared with the industry’s growth of 107%. It has outperformed peers like Veeco Instruments Inc. VECO and Axcelis Technologies, Inc. ACLS. While Veeco has gained 46.5%, Axcelis has risen 8.8% during this period.

The rally was largely driven by optimism surrounding artificial intelligence (AI)-led semiconductor demand, advanced packaging and a broader industry recovery. Following such a stellar run, investors might wonder whether the upside potential is already priced in or whether KLIC has enough catalysts to sustain its momentum.

KLIC Rides on AI & Advanced Packaging Boom

Kulicke and Soffa is well positioned to benefit from increasing semiconductor complexity and the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure. Growing adoption of high-bandwidth memory, advanced logic and heterogeneous packaging is fueling demand for the company’s advanced packaging solutions.

Thermo-Compression Bonding (TCB) remains a key growth opportunity. KLIC expects fiscal 2026 TCB revenues to exceed $100 million and is developing annual TCB production capacity of approximately $400 million. Demand is broadening across integrated device manufacturers, foundries and outsourced semiconductor assembly and test providers, strengthening the company’s long-term growth prospects.

Kulicke and Soffa is also targeting emerging Co-Packaged Optics opportunities as AI data centers demand greater bandwidth and improved power efficiency. Meanwhile, traditional wire bonding should benefit from rising demand for networking, storage, communications and power-management chips used across AI infrastructure.

Robust Results & Outlook Inspire Optimism

KLIC’s fiscal third-quarter 2026 performance underscores improving business momentum. Revenues surged 122.6% year over year to $330.4 million and increased 36.2% sequentially. Non-GAAP earnings jumped to $1.20 per share from 7 cents a year earlier and surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.00 by 20%.

Management expects fiscal fourth-quarter revenues of approximately $375 million, plus or minus $20 million, while non-GAAP earnings are projected at $1.42 per share, plus or minus 10%. Improving demand across end markets and stronger order visibility bode well for near-term performance.

Estimate Trend

Earnings estimates for KLIC for fiscal 2026 have moved up 15.9% to $3.87 over the past 60 days. Such positive estimate revisions indicate growing confidence in KLIC’s earnings trajectory.
