Trading Strategies

\r\n

There are many trading strategies described for the TTM Squeeze indicator, all of which can also be used with the Modified TTM Squeeze indicator. A simple effective strategy is described below:

\r\n

Wait for a squeeze period, which lasts at least 3 bars
On the first grey bar (release from squeeze), trade in the direction of the trend. (i.e., if the Modified TTM Squeeze value is above zero, place a call; if the indicator value is below zero, place a put)
Exit trade when price enters the next squeeze (risky) or when the trend fades, indicated by darker green/red histogram bars (conservative)

\r\n

An excellent setup is when two or more major timeframes are in a squeeze. Enter the trade when the lower timeframe is released from the squeeze. For example, both 15min and 5min periods are in a squeeze period. Enter trade when 5min period is released from squeeze. While squeeze patterns in higher timeframes generally indicates a larger move, anecdotally in forex, TTM squeeze works best on the 4 hour period and shorter.

The Modified TTM Squeeze also pairs well with ADX indicators.

C Retracement Levels and D Extension Levels:

38.2% - > 1.618%
50.0% - > 1.618%
61.8% - > 1.618%
78.6% - > 1.270%
86.0% - > 1.180%

Fibonacci calculation

When the A, B and C levels have been formed followed by a HIGH/LOW* at the corresponding D Level, then the current Fibonacci block is considered complete and a new block is started.
The A and B levels of the new Fibonacci block are based on the previous block, i.e. Α_new = C_old and B_new = D_old. This way, a chain of consecutive Fibonacci blocks is formed, with the last block being the active one.
The chain is broken when the price moves below (uptrend) or above (downtrend) the A level of the last Fibonacci block.

*a HIGH/LOW occurs when the third (middle) candle out of 5 consecutive candles has a higher/lower HIGH/LOW than the two candles before and after it.

Strategies

First two steps for any strategy

Locate the latest valid (containing at least 2 complete Fibonacci blocks) uptrend and downtrend Fibonacci chains.
Select the one that is dominant, i.e. the direction (uptrend or downtrend) that contains the most completed Fibonacci blocks in its latest chain.

Conservative

For the dominant chain find previous support/resistance levels close to the C levels (61.8%, 78.6% and 86.0%)*
Wait for a LOW/HIGH to be created on these levels (if the Uptrend or Downtrend Fibonacci chain is dominant respectively)
If the above criteria are met, enter using an entry strategy such as a candlestick pattern, a trend line break, a crossing moving average (e.g. 5-period and 10-period MAs) etc.
The safest level for the Stop Loss is a few pips above (downtrend) or below (uptrend) the A level of the last Fibonacci block. The Take Profit should be placed at the corresponding D level.

Stop Loss and Take Profit can also be set as in step 3 of the Aggressive Strategy.

Aggressive

For the dominant chain, wait for a C LOW/HIGH (Uptrend/Downtrend Fibonacci chain respectively) to be formed at any Fibonacci Level.
If the above criteria are met, enter using an entry strategy such as a candlestick pattern, a trend line break, a crossing moving average (e.g. 5-period and 10-period MAs) etc.
Place the Stop Loss a few pips above the current LOW (uptrend) or below the current HIGH (downtrend) and a Take Profit at the corresponding D Extension level or at a distances 2-3 times larger than the stop loss (Risk/Reward Ratio 1:2 or 1:3)
If the above criteria are met more than once, create additional positions with Stop Loss and Take Profit levels as described in step 3.
In case a position is closed due to the price level reaching the Stop Loss, open the same position again if the same criteria are met again.

Very Aggressive

For the dominant chain, place pending orders at multiple Fibonacci Levels (e.g. 61.8%, 78.6% and 86.0%).
Place the Stop Loss a few pips above (downtrend) or below (uptrend) the A level of the latest Fibonacci block. The Take Profit should be placed at the corresponding D level (1.270%).
Follow this procedure for every new Fibonacci created.

Working with the indicator

\r\n

The Color Stochastic with an analytical panel indicator provides tremendous opportunities for analyzing the market situation and making trading decisions. But even if you do not have this experience, you can work effectively using the recommendations. Below are some tips that will help you in analyzing the market situation.

Change in the color of the Stochastic lines indicates a market reversal.
Position of the Stochastic above/below the 50 level indicates an uptrend/downtrend.
The sto_overbuy and sto_oversold parameters allow setting a filter, where the buy/sell signals are to be ignored.
The signals from the working periods (M30, H1, H4, D1) should be taken only in the context of the tendencies on the higher periods. The smaller periods serve as confirmation of the signals from the working periods. For this purpose, you can use divergence, position of the indicator relative to the 20, 50, 80 levels, the development of the Stochastic rise/fall during a certain period.
The more values of the same color are present in the Variance column, the stronger the signal and the stronger the market impulse.
The more periods are in the overbought/oversold areas, the more probable is the previous movement to end and change.
A change in the trend on the smaller periods indicates that the tendency on the higher periods will change soon.

It should be noted that the Color Stochastic with an analytical panel indicator alone is not sufficient for a successful trading. Make sure you use trend indicators and support/resistance levels in your trading.

User Patterns

Users can add their own patterns to MonsterDash. Just modify the Monster_UserPatterns.csv to include your patterns. The .csv file can be found in the files folder of the User Data Directory. A sample pattern is already included in the file.

Offline Charts

MonsterDash will read and detect offline charts. Renko or Median charts among others can be used this way. However, offline charts cannot be automatically opened through MonsterDash to show the pattern found, this is a limitation of MetaTrader 4.

Sorting, Scrolling, Opening Charts

\r\n

The patterns can be sorted on all columns. Click the column headers to sort the grid to the information in the column, click again to reverse the sort. The grid containing all patterns can be scrolled using a standard scrollbar. Clicking the button in the last column of the grid will open or update a chart containing the pattern found.

The data on the option volumes ratio are taken from one section of the \"daily bulletin\" - report of the CME, published weekly. This section is called Daily Volume, it is available as Excel files on the official ftp server of the exchange. To update the data on CallPut Ratio, simply copy the corresponding reports to the indicator folder. Detailed instructions on performing the update can be found in the blog How to update CME reports on your PC. The demonstration mode (during testing) does not require the data, the indicator loads them from its internal memory. However, updating the reports is not possible in the demo version, therefore, the CallPut Ratio is displayed with some delay in this mode. The indicator works on any timeframe, but the data are available only for the daily timeframe; therefore, the suggested working chart period is D1. Number of Bars (Odd Number) [Affects only Divergence]: This is the number of bars that are required to detect a price high or low, including the top/bottom bar. For example, if set to 5, price HIGHs will be detected at bars which have a HIGH that is higher than the HIGH of the first two bars on their left and right. If RSI Divergence is used independently, it uses this mechanism to detect highs and lows. Otherwise, highs and lows are detected through the Double Top/Bottom indicator.

Slope Calculation

The slope is calculated by subtracting the price of the moving average n periods ago from the current price of the moving average.
The slope is then classified (upwards, downwards, horizontal) and color-coded (green, red, blue) based on the average true range (ATR) n-periods back.

If the current price of the moving average is higher than the price of the moving average n-periods back by more than the ATR n-periods back, the slope is considered positive (green).

If |MAPrice(current) > Price(n-periods)| and |Price(current)-Price(n-periods)| > |ATR(n-periods)|, then Slope > 0

If the current price of the moving average is lower than the price of the moving average n-periods back by more than the ATR n-periods back, the slope is considered positive (green).

Fast / Slow Moving Average Method: The method used to calculate the MA. Select 'Disable' in one of the two inputs to turn it off and use a single MA.

Entry Conditions

This strategy uses the Bollinger Bands as breakout indicators, i.e. a potential long entry signal is generated when a candle closes above the upper Bollinger Band and a potential short entry signal is generated when a candle closes below the lower Bollinger Band.

To have an entry signal, except from passing the Bollinger Bands, the close of the current candle must be greater than the close of X periods ago for a long entry or lower than X periods ago for a short entry.

Exit Conditions

When a position is initiated, a stop loss is set at a Moving Average. For every period that the strategy remains in a position, the number of periods used for the Moving Average calculation is reduced. This happens until a minimum limit for the Moving Average period is reached. From that point on the period of the Moving Average remains constant.

To create an exit signal the moving average must be below the upper band if we are long and above the lower band if we are short. This element was added to prevent the system from going back into the same trade that was just liquidated.

Bollinger Band Settings

Period - the period of the Bollinger Bands.
Deviation - the number of standard deviations between the bands and the moving average.
Shift - the number of time periods to shift the Bollinger Band indicator.
Apply to - the candle price on which the Bollinger Band calculations will be based.

Moving Average SL Settings

Period - the period of the Moving Average.
Rate of Period Reduction - the amount by which the period of the Moving Average Stop Loss is reduced at each candle after an entry signal.
Minimum Period - the minimum limit for the period of the Moving Average Stop Loss. The Moving Average will remain constant when this period is reached.
Shift - the number of time periods to shift the Moving Average indicator.
Method - the method used to calculate the Moving Average.
Apply to - the candle price on which the Moving Average calculations will be based.

Trend Filter Settings
Lookback Period - the number of periods to look back for the previous close to compare with the current close and confirm the entry signal.
Maximum Drawn Bars - the number of bars the indicator will be drawn on. For example, if set to 1000, the indicator will be drawn on the last 1000 bars of the chart.

History_Size - depth of the calculated history.
Depth - the minimum number of candles, where a second High or Low cannot be formed if the Deviation parameter is met.
Deviation - the minimum number of points, expressed as a percentage between the Highs and Lows of two adjacent candles (this parameter is responsible for the extremes used to search for the levels).
Backstep - the minimum number of candles between the local Highs or Lows (this parameter is responsible for the extremes used to search for the levels).
KWL - (main parameter) level width ratio (percentage, multiplied by two).
This value will be different for different market types and time periods, as it depends on the range of the price fluctuations on the chart.
For example: in Forex, this can be 0.001 on the minute chart and 0.1 on the daily chart.
For stocks (for example: Google), it can be 0.01 on the minute chart and 1.0 on the daily chart.
Points - (main parameter) the number of points (extremums) required to plot a level.
Distance - (main parameter) the maximum distance (expressed in the number of candles) between the points (extremums) used to plot a level.
Strict - (main parameter) strict approach to the formation of levels (the levels are not broken by the price during the formation).

Important_defaultAlerts - Set to 1 if alert should be on by default. Values are comma separated for each timeframe.
Important_periodsToShow - Periods (timeframes) to show. Values are comma separated.
Important_symbol - Symbol to show information for, comma separated. Can also specify currencies.

Important_symbolsExclude - Will exclude symbols that contains any of the items, e.g. exotic currencies.
CustomN_indicatorName - Custom indicator name as appears in Indicators folder in your MetaTrader Data Folder.

Include_* - Allows the standard indicators to be turned on/off, in terms of being in the dashboard and contributing to the alert.
Box_* - Allows the position of the matrix to be changed.
Property_* - Allows the properties of the standard indicators to be changed, e.g. period of moving average.
Gen_alert* - Allows the alert to be sent to mobile / email.

Equilibrium Fractal Wave Index

Equilibrium Fractal Wave index is an exploratory analysis tool for your trading. How to use the EFW index is similar to Hurst Exponent by Harold Edwin Hurst (1880-1978) or Fractal Dimension coined by Mandelbrot in 1975. Literarily, EFW index can help you to confirm the presence of equilibrium fractal waves in the financial market. However, Equilibrium fractal wave index is more practical and intuitive comparing to Hurst Exponent and Fractal Dimension for your trading. The value of equilibrium fractal wave index can range from 0.0 to over 1.0. The higher the equilibrium fractal wave index, you can confirm the stronger presence of a particular shape ratio of equilibrium fractal wave. Hence this ratio will be your choice of trading. If you stronly believe on fibonacci ratios like 0.618, 0.382, etc, then you may skip this part because default ratio setting uses 0.382, 0.500 and 0.618. However, you will find that some fibonacci ratios are not significant for some currency pairs.

Superimposed Patterns

Superimposed patterns are the several triangles overlapping in the same place in your chart. Superimposed pattern can provide the good trading entries when it is used together with EFW channel.

How to Trade

This pattern DOES NOT appear very often on higher timeframes. But when it does, it is a very high-probability setup. The indicator also includes an Inside bars scanner. It can for example be used to detect a special type of Inside bars formation which is formed by a Master candle (MC) followed by 4 inside candles (please see the strategy explanation below). A separate indicator for this strategy can be found here. Combined with your own rules and techniques, this indicator will allow you to create (or enhance) your own powerful system.

Important

Please note that due to the multifunctionality neither buy/sell advice nor lines and arrows will be drawn on the chart where the indicator is installed. They will be drawn on the new chart which will be opened when clicking on a signal in the panel. It is highly advisable to put the indicator on a clean chart without any other indicators or Expert Advisors on it which could interfere with the scanner.

Master candle strategy

Master Candle (MC) is a trading strategy based on a candle formation where the first (master) candle is followed by 4 smaller candles which are inside the first candle. The whole formation is built of 5 candles, independent of if bearish or bullish.

Timeframes: H1 and H4 charts. Even if the MC strategy works best on H1 it can be traded on all timeframe and currency pairs. Mainly on H4, H1 and M30 charts.

Currency pairs: Trades best on volatile pairs such as GBPUSD and GBPJPY.

After breaking MC high/low a position will be taken in the direction of the break. It is recommended that the MC has a size of 40 to 100 pips (but it depends on the volatility of the currency pair in question). It is also recommended to put stop orders for instance 5 pips above and below the MC high/low.

Some traders also use the rule that a break in any direction should occur during the next 3 candles after the MC creation (5 ^th candle). Anyway, it is highly recommended to cancel any stop order if there is no break after 24 hours.

Finally it is for better results recommended to trade in the direction of the trend as well as to avoid trading at strong and important price levels - resistances and supports. It is also advisable not to trade MC which appears inside another MC.

How to Trade

In general, each detected pattern will show you which direction to trade. Therefore, trading is really simple. Using this software requires at least some knowledge on risk and reward management in the financial trading. Settings

These inputs control the global setting of the indicator.

Number of Daily Session: 0 means indicator will not draw any daily volatility lines. 1 means that indicator will draw one set of daily volatility lines. You can create multiple session of daily volatility lines. However, too many sessions can slow down your MetaTrader. So use the right number for your computer.
Number of Weekly Session: It is the same as daily session input.
Number of Monthly Session: It is the same as daily session input.
Starting Index: 0 is default value. For 0, indicator will start to draw from session 0.
Use White Chart: True means that you will use white background chart.
Use Individual Line Color: If false, then you will use global color scheme. If true, then you can use individual color scheme

It is highly advisable to put the indicator on a clean (empty) chart without any other indicators or Expert Advisors on it which could interfere with the scanner.
