Church & Dwight Stock Outlook: Is Wall Street Bullish or Bearish?

With a market cap of $23.5 billion, Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (CHD) is a U.S.-based manufacturer and marketer of household, personal care, and specialty products, operating across Consumer Domestic, Consumer International, and Specialty Products segments. It owns a diverse portfolio of well-known brands spanning cleaning, personal care, health, and animal nutrition, sold through both retail and industrial channels worldwide.

Shares of the Ewing, New Jersey-based company have underperformed the broader market over the past 52 weeks. CHD stock has risen 6.8% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has increased 19.3%. However, shares of the company are up 18.2% on a YTD basis, outpacing SPX’s 12.4% return.

Narrowing the focus, shares of the maker of household and personal products have outperformed the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLP4.5% gain over the past 52 weeks and a 10.2% YTD rise.

Shares of Church & Dwight rose 1.2% on Jul. 31 as Q2 2026 results showed strong underlying demand, with organic sales growth of 5.8% and net sales up 1.3% to $1.53 billion, beating expectations, supported by its portfolio repositioning, household-brand strength and higher marketing investment. Investor sentiment also improved after CHD raised fiscal 2026 guidance, now expecting flat to 1% net sales growth, 4% - 5% organic sales growth versus 3% - 4% previously, 6% - 8% adjusted EPS growth versus 5% - 8%, and 100 bps - 200 bps of adjusted gross-margin expansion.

For the fiscal year ending in December 2026, analysts expect Church & Dwight’s adjusted EPS to grow 7.1% year-over-year to $3.78. The company’s earnings surprise history is promising. It beat or met the consensus estimates in each of the last four quarters. 

Among the 20 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on eight “Strong Buy” ratings, two “Moderate Buys,” nine “Holds,” and one “Strong Sell.”

This configuration has remained unchanged over the past three months.

On Aug. 3, RBC Capital analyst Nik Modi raised Church & Dwight’s price target to $115 and maintained an “Outperform” rating.

The mean price target is $107.31, representing a premium of 8.3% to CHD's current price. The Street-high price target of $115 suggests a 16% potential upside.
