Cotton Falling on Tuesday Morning

Cotton prices are falling across most contracts on Tuesday, down 97 to 136 points. Futures closed the Monday session with contracts up 21 to 54 points across most months. Crude oil was down $2.08 with the US dollar index $0.191 higher.

Weekly Crop Progress data showed 81% of the US cotton setting bolls as of Sunday, with 20% of the crop with bolls opening. Condition ratings were pegged at 37% good/excellent, down 1 percentage points on the week. The Brugler500 index was down another 6 points to 304.

The Cotlook A Index was back down 70 points on Friday at 98.20 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were down 1,749 bales on August 21, with the certified stocks level at 68,894 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by 143 points last week to 69.62 cents/lb. 

Oct 26 Cotton  closed at 87.48, up 41 points, currently down 136 points

Dec 26 Cotton  closed at 88.83, up 48 points, currently down 121 points

Mar 27 Cotton  closed at 90.69, up 54 points, currently down 119 points
