USAR Stock Alert: USA Rare Earths Jumps on Trump's Greenland Deal Announcement

USA Rare Earth (USAR) stock is ripping higher on Sept. 21 after President Donald Trump's administration’s announcement of a framework deal with Denmark. The geopolitical breakthrough that grants the U.S. permanent security control over Greenland has breathed fresh life into critical mineral names on Monday.

Despite today’s surge, USAR shares are trading at nearly half their price in early June.

What the Greenland Deal Means for USA Rare Earth Stock

Trump’s newly announced accord gives Washington a major role in securing Greenland, aimed at blocking foreign adversaries from controlling critical mineral deposits or military footholds on the Arctic island.

While USA Rare Earth’s flagship asset is its Round Top project in Texas, USAR stock is extending gains as part of a broader wave of optimism across western critical-materials producers.

Investors view a U.S.-secured Arctic defense and resources perimeter as a signal that Washington will prioritize, fund, and streamline permitting for non-Chinese rare earth supply chains.

All in all, the news reduces geopolitical tail risk for Western miners and paves the way for potential federal support, infrastructure expansion, and off-take partnerships across the industry.

Should You Chase the Momentum in USAR Shares Today?

While the broader strategic implications of the Greenland deal are undeniably positive for domestic supply independence, caution is still recommended in playing USAR shares at current levels.

Monday’s pop is driven largely by policy sentiment rather than direct capital commitments or off-take contracts for the Nasdaq-listed firm.

USA Rare Earth remains an early-stage miner — its flagship Round Top project is still undergoing a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and is not yet in commercial production.

Plus, the company remains unprofitable, posting an adjusted net loss of about $33.5 million in Q2 alongside substantial operational cash burn as it builds out its Stillwater magnet facility.

In short, waiting for a pullback or consolidation near support may offer a safer entry point into the rare earth minerals stock than chasing today’s gap up.

Wall Street’s View on USA Rare Earth

On the flip side, however, Wall Street remains largely bullish on USAR stock, with the consensus rating currently set at “Strong Buy.”

According to Barchart, the mean price target of about $35 suggests the company’s share price could actually more than double from here over the next 12 months.
