MRVL Stock Alert: What to Know as Marvell Technology Expands Chip Deal With Google

Marvell (MRVL) shares pushed higher on Wednesday after the semiconductor firm announced an expanded multi-year commercial agreement with Alphabet's (GOOG) (GOOGL) Google. In its press release, MRVL said it has issued GOOGL warrants to purchase up to 58.97 million of its shares valued at over $12 billion, tying equity vesting directly to future custom chip purchases.

Despite today’s gains, Marvell stock is down more than 25% versus its year-to-date high.

Significance of Google Partnership for Marvell Stock

This strategic partnership embeds Marvell into Google’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) ecosystem.

MRVL is collaborating with the search giant to develop tailored AI inference accelerators, storage controllers, network interfaces, and near-memory compute architectures.

What makes the deal constructive for Marvell shares is the performance-linked structure. Google has received warrants to buy them at an exercise price of $206.58, with vesting tied to every $500 million in custom chip orders it places through fiscal 2033.

This gives the multinational a financial incentive to scale its custom silicon orders with Marvell, validating it as a primary ASIC partner alongside Broadcom (AVGO) in the hyperscaler AI infrastructure boom.

Should You Buy MRVL Shares into Strength Today?

While loading up on an established name like Marvell Technology immediately after an 8% single-day pop often carries short-term volatility risks, the company’s long-term fundamental case has never looked stronger.

MRVL’s break above its 50-day moving average (MA) on Aug. 19 is backed by concrete multi-billion-dollar visibility into future revenue (through 2033).

Hyperscalers are increasingly shifting away from off-the-shelf accelerators toward custom ASICs to lower deployment costs, placing Marvell in the epicenter of the next wave of AI spending.

That said, MRVL shares are currently trading at about 76x forward earnings, which makes it more expensive to own than the other best-of-breed AI stocks, including Nvidia (NVDA) at about 26x.

Marvell Remains Buy-Rated Among Wall Street Firms

Despite Marvell’s solid year-to-date performance, Wall Street remains convinced that it will extend gains further in the back half of 2026.

The consensus rating on MRVL stock sits at “Strong Buy,” with the mean price target of about $268 indicating potential upside of roughly 15% from current levels.
