AI-backed Scalability

H&R Block integrated AI Tax Assist, a GenAI-powered technology, into DIY tax preparation to support top-line growth. This technology bolstered the customer experience by assisting clients who prepare a paid DIY online return without extra charges.

In fiscal 2026, HRB generated $383.7 million in DIY tax preparation, contributing approximately 10% of revenues and rising 10.2% from the preceding year. Importantly, AI Tax Assist addressed 4.1 million client messages and responses, suggesting an 88% year-over-year upsurge during the fiscal 2026 tax season.

Wave Deepens Client Relationships

Wave ended fiscal 2026, registering double-digit revenue growth, marking the second consecutive year of growth, driven by paid Pro-Tier subscriptions and payments. The integration of Wave’s SaaS capabilities with the company’s small-business offering could also solidify year-round client relationships, underscoring revenue base beyond the core tax season.

Robust Liquidity Profile

As of June 30, 2026, HRB held $978 million in cash against no current debt. This solid cash position, which is further supported by 23% year-over-year growth in the operating cash flow, provides HRB with sufficient flexibility to scale without affecting its short-term debt position.

The company’s current ratio of 1.13, which stands above the industry benchmark of 1.03, raises investor morale as it highlights heightened efficacy in paying off short-term obligations easily.

Shareholder-Friendly Strategy

In fiscal 2023, 2024 and 2025, the company distributed $177.9 million, $179.8 million and $197.3 million in dividends, respectively. It also returned $569 million, $379.6 million and $437.1 million through share repurchases in fiscal 2023, 2024 and 2025, respectively. These actions reflect HRB’s dedication to enhancing shareholder value and its confidence in the business's long-term potential.
