My story:

I’m graduated in 2004 as master automation engineer.
I started to work as PLC programmer for different kinds of industries (pharma, food, automotive, oil & gas, …).
Because of the ever-increasing need to transfer data between the production floor and the enterprise system, more soft skills became essential (VB, VBA, VBscript, Cscript, C++, SQL, HTML, Excel, Access, …).

Around 2009 I did found “Forex trading” on the internet by chance.
I was immediately fascinated by the concept and started to learn more about it.
After a couple of months I begun to trade manually on my first demo account.
But it was hard to be consistent and even more difficult to put my emotions a side.

Therefore I wanted to automate my trading strategy and after some research I did found MetaTrader 4.
The program language (MQL4) was almost the same as C++, so I could start with a solid background.
The possibilities were unlimited now, I could backtest my strategy only with a couple of mouse clicks and test this EA with different parameters.
But, as many of you also experienced, my EA was not profitable at all.

After that I jumped from one strategy to another, and not a single one (that I tried) would make me rich.
I’ve written more than hundreds of different expert advisors, indicators and scripts.
Only after four years I was realizing that my expectations were just too big.
I was always looking for the jackpot (more than 100% a year) instead of a realistic return.

I did start from scratch with a lot of statistical analysis on the historical data with mixed results.
2 small edges were be found that could overcome the trading cost.
An EA with this edges and proper money management was tested on a demo account for months.
The results were slightly better than the expectation, so I decided to go live on a (small) real account.
At the moment of writing my EA is almost 1 year in action and made +20% (expectation: +25%/year).
For most of you, this is probably not a good result, but I feel myself comfortable with this trading style.

In the beginning of 2017 I’ve decided to program on freelance basis.
My educational background, trading experience and a lot of written EA’s, indi’s, scripts allows me to program your needs.
