Why CrowdStrike Stock Is 1 of Dan Ives’ Top Tech Picks for 2027

Cybersecurity is entering a new phase, and CrowdStrike (CRWD) is emerging as one of the key names to watch. The endpoint security specialist has seen its stock climb sharply over the past year as businesses increasingly rely on its Falcon platform to defend their networks and endpoints, including computers and smartphones, against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks. Now, the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is adding another layer to the story.

As AI models become more capable, they are also creating new cybersecurity risks, making protection more important for companies deploying the technology. Analysts are taking note of the opportunity. This week, former Wedbush analyst Dan Ives highlighted his top five technology picks through 2027, and CrowdStrike made the list. Ives assigned CRWD stock a $335 price target, pointing to rising cybersecurity needs as companies increasingly deploy AI agents.

With the bullish case for CrowdStrike gaining traction, here’s a closer look at what could be next for CRWD stock.

About CrowdStrike Stock

With a market capitalization of roughly $281.6 billion, Austin, Texas-based CrowdStrike has established itself as a major player in the global cybersecurity market. The company focuses on securing several key areas of enterprise risk, spanning endpoints, cloud workloads, identity, and data. Its flagship offering is the Falcon platform.

Falcon brings together real-time attack indicators, threat intelligence, evolving insights into adversary tactics, and telemetry collected across an organization. Together, these capabilities are designed to improve threat detection, automate protection and remediation, support threat hunting, and give security teams a more prioritized view of vulnerabilities.

CrowdStrike’s cloud-native architecture is built around a single, lightweight agent, allowing organizations to deploy the platform at scale while limiting operational complexity. The platform is also designed to combine protection with performance, helping businesses simplify their security operations and shorten the time it takes to realize value.

That business backdrop has translated into a powerful run for CRWD stock. Shares have soared a stunning 113% over the past year and are up 124% so far in 2026, significantly outpacing the broader market. During the same periods, the S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has gained 19% and 14%, respectively. CrowdStrike recently reached a 52-week high of $286.99 on Oct. 6, although the stock has since retreated about 8% from that level. A combination of strong fundamentals and heightened concerns about AI-driven cyber threats has kept investor attention firmly on CrowdStrike and its longer-term growth prospects.

A Closer Look at CrowdStrike’s Q2 Performance

CrowdStrike delivered a standout fiscal 2027 second-quarter performance on Aug. 26, sailing past Wall Street’s expectations on both the top and bottom lines. Total revenue jumped 26% year-over-year (YOY) to $1.47 billion, comfortably ahead of the consensus estimate of $1.44 billion. Subscription revenue, the company’s primary growth engine, climbed 27% YOY to $1.4 billion, pointing to strong enterprise demand for the Falcon cybersecurity platform as the rapid adoption of AI drives greater demand for security.

The bottom line was equally impressive, with profitability expanding sharply on strong operating leverage and disciplined cost management. Non-GAAP net income attributable to CrowdStrike reached $323 million, translating into diluted EPS of $0.31, above the consensus estimate of $0.29. Non-GAAP subscription gross margin also improved to 81%, compared with 80% in Q2 fiscal 2026.

CrowdStrike’s recurring revenue engine continued to gain momentum. Annual recurring revenue (ARR) rose 25% YOY to $5.84 billion as of July 31, 2026, including a record $332.8 million in net new ARR added during the quarter.

Cash generation provided another strong takeaway. Net cash generated from operations climbed to $530.3 million, compared with $332.8 million in Q2 fiscal 2026. Free cash flow also increased to $377.4 million from $283.6 million a year earlier. Meanwhile, cash and cash equivalents reached $5.01 billion as of July 31.

CrowdStrike founder and CEO George Kurtz called Q2 the company’s “best quarter” in its history, pointing to record Falcon Flex results, record net new ARR, and accelerating growth. The CEO also described the “Mythos moment" as a turning point that translated into mass-market acceptance of AI adoption needing security, positioning CrowdStrike to capitalize on what he called the company’s “largest market opportunity." According to Kurtz, every enterprise will run on AI, making the security of AI an increasingly critical opportunity for CrowdStrike.

With strong Q2 results in the rearview mirror and a record Q3 pipeline ahead, CrowdStrike raised its full-year revenue outlook to $5.99 billion to $6.01 billion. The company also sharply lifted its fiscal 2027 net new ARR growth guidance by 630 basis points, bringing the midpoint to approximately 34% YOY growth.
