Are Wall Street Analysts Predicting Aptiv Stock Will Climb or Sink?

Schaffhausen, Switzerland-based Aptiv PLC (APTV) designs, manufactures, and sells vehicle components. Valued at $8.3 billion by market cap, the company helps automotive OEMs to create vehicles with advanced safety features, electrified architectures, and intelligent connectivity.

Shares of this leading global technology company have considerably underperformed the broader market over the past year. APTV has declined 51% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied nearly 8.2%. In 2026, APTV stock is down 47.1%, compared to the SPX’s 7.4% gains on a YTD basis.

Narrowing the focus, APTV’s underperformance is also apparent compared to the Global X Autonomous & Electric Vehicles ETF (DRIV). The exchange-traded fund has declined about 3.7% over the past year. Moreover, the ETF’s 3.5% dip on a YTD basis outshines the stock’s double-digit losses over the same time frame.

APTV has faced persistent underperformance over the past year, weighed down by slower-than-expected adoption rates for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), automaker production volatility, and ongoing supply chain adjustments. While the company remains a technological leader in vehicle architecture and automated driving solutions, investors have grown cautious regarding margin pressures, elevated R&D spending requirements, and broader macroeconomic headwinds affecting global automotive production schedules, leading to a noticeable pullback in its share price.

On Nov. 3, APTV shares closed down by 6.5% after reporting its Q3 results. Its revenue stood at $3.2 billion, up 2.3% year over year. The company’s adjusted EPS decreased 4.1% from the year-ago quarter to $1.42.

For the current fiscal year, ending in December, analysts expect APTV’s EPS to decline 27.8% to $5.65 on a diluted basis. The company’s earnings surprise history is impressive. It beat the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.

Among the 21 analysts covering APTV stock, the consensus is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on 15 “Strong Buy” ratings, one “Moderate Buy,” four “Holds,” and one “Strong Sell.”

On Nov. 6, Citigroup Inc. (C) kept a “Buy” rating on APTV and lowered the price target to $68, implying a potential upside of 69.5% from current levels.

The mean price target of $61.91 represents a 54.4% premium to APTV’s current price levels. The Street-high price target of $95 suggests an ambitious upside potential of 136.8%.
