How to Use: Practical Scenarios

1. Identifying Compression and Breakouts (Volatility Squeeze) Markets cycle between low volatility (compression) and high volatility (expansion). The Adaptive Bands visualize this cycle.

Compression: When the Upper and Lower bands move closer together, it indicates the market is entering a low-volatility \"squeeze.\" This is often a precursor to a significant price move.
- Signal: Watch for the cRSI to break out of the squeezed bands. This often marks the start of a new trend.
Expansion: When the bands widen significantly, volatility is high. If the cRSI line stays \"pinned\" to the upper or lower band during expansion, it confirms a strong trend. Avoid counter-trend trading during these expansions.

2. Trading Lateral (Sideways) Markets In a ranging market, price lacks a clear direction. The Adaptive Bands automatically contract to fit the range, providing dynamic support and resistance levels.

3. Spotting Reversals and Continuations (Divergences) The indicator automatically detects and labels four types of divergences to help you identify reversals or trend continuations.

Regular Divergence (Possible Reversal)
- Bullish: Price makes a Lower Low, but cRSI makes a Higher Low. This suggests selling pressure is fading and a reversal up is likely.
- Bearish: Price makes a Higher High, but cRSI makes a Lower High. This suggests buying pressure is fading and a reversal down is likely.
Hidden Divergence (Trend Continuation)

Hidden Bullish: Price makes a Higher Low (in an uptrend), but cRSI makes a Lower Low. This suggests the dip is an opportunity to buy for trend continuation.
Hidden Bearish: Price makes a Lower High (in a downtrend), but cRSI makes a Higher High. This indicates a \"cool off\" in the oscillator during a downtrend and suggests the downward trend will continue.

(Just because you see divergence (bear or hidden bear) does not mean a price is going to go down. Often price continues to rise through bears, so take note and that is normal)

4. Trend Filtering with VWMA The indicator includes an optional Volume-Weighted Moving Average (VWMA) for the main chart.

Trend Confirmation: Use the VWMA to filter your oscillator signals. If the VWMA is sloped upward (Green), look primarily for Buy signals. If sloped downward (Red), look primarily for Sell signals.

Input Parameters (can be modified in properties)

InpDomCycle: The Dominant Cycle Length (Default: 10). Controls the sensitivity of the cycle smoothing.
InpCrsiMaLen: Length of the Signal Line (WMA).
InpShowVWMA: Toggles the main chart overlay on/off.
InpTopBottomLookback: Sensitivity for detecting tops and bottoms for divergence calculations.

Note: This tool is a port of the Cyclic Smoothed RSI strategy originally designed for TradingView. The indicator alone is not perfect, please use it responsibly when integrating it in your trading strategy

This indicator allows you to manage multiple other EAs with just one Take a Break EA instance.

Simply specify the corresponding Chart Group in the indicator(s) and Take a Break EA settings and you are good to go.

Setup examples (Indicator + EA)

As a prerequisite, add the URL https://trading.custom-solutions.it to the list of allowed WebRequest URLs (press CTRL+O, tab \"Expert Advisors\").

Basic/auto setup (1 TaB EA for managing all charts/EAs)

You want 1 Take a Break EA to manage all other charts/EAs, using the same filter settings for news, drawdown etc for all of them:

Add the indicator with default settings to all charts that should be managed by the Take a Break EA (those with the EAs to pause).
Add the Take a Break a Break EA with default settings to any M1 chart.

Advanced setup* (1 TaB EA for managing some charts/EAs only)

You want 1 Take a Break EA to manage only 2 other charts/EAs on EURUSD and GBPUSD, using specific filter settings for news, drawdown etc only for these 2 charts/EAs:

Add the indicator to the EURUSD chart, either with default settings or specify EURUSD explicitly as the Chart Group.
Add the indicator to the GBPUSD chart, either with default settings or specify GBPUSD explicitly as the Chart Group.
Add the Take a Break a Break EA to any M1 chart and specify EURUSD,GBPUSD in the parameter Which Chart Groups should be managed?.

That's it! Take a Break will now take care of your other EAs by applying the filter settings you defined.

* Note that only the paid version gives you full flexibility to set up multiple TaB EAs with different filter settings for different charts/EAs.

Parameters (excerpt)

Allow One Click Trading: if set to \"false\", TaB will prevent MetaTrader's built-in One Click Trading panel from being shown on the chart.
Recreate default templates?: Only applicable to \"Template type to create\" = \"Trade IS allowed\". If you use the default, auto-created templates for \"Trading is NOT allowed\" and \"Profit/Loss Limit reached\" and want them to use the latest settings of the \"Trade IS allowed\" template (e.g. after you changed the \"Label Color\"), you can recreate these template types by enabling this option. Note that this will overwrite the existing ones for this Chart Group. Thus, this option should not be enabled if you use custom templates for \"Trading is NOT allowed\" and \"Profit/Loss Limit reached\".

General information

EA version 4.0 has been a major performance upgrade with an almost entirely rewritten code base. This upgrade allows Take a Break to handle even large-scale chart setups while consuming a minimum amount of CPU power. From this version onward, the frequency of the news + time filter checks is controlled by the chart timeframe. Due to this, Take a Break EA must be run on a chart with timeframe M1 so that these checks get executed every minute. Conveniently, the EA will change its timeframe automatically if it was not attached to an M1 chart right away.
From indicator version 1.30 onward, the chart templates for \"Trading is NOT allowed\" and \"Profit/Loss Limit reached\" are auto-created if they do not exist already. That should facilitate the setup process for most use cases of Take a Break. If you want to create custom chart templates (e.g. you want another EA to trade during news) or want to overwrite existing ones, do the following:

Setup a chart with all required EAs/indicators.
Attach the Take a Break indicator to this chart.
Specify the corresponding \"Chart Group\".
Select the \"Template Type\" you want to create/overwrite (\"Trading IS allowed\" / \"Trading is NOT allowed\" / \"Profit/Loss Limit reached\").

Some advice: Money management and discipline are key, no one strategy or indicator will produce success, understanding losses will occur and how to recover them is key. Some days are all about giving back to the market, making small wins or losses, then some days wins can roll in, its about consistency and patience. Know your trading products as best as possible, their pros and cons; are they volatile or do they produce small moves, lower time frames should be for low spread products. Understand trade size and always trade safe, risk more with a separate account if you have a strategy with that in mind. Practice and back testing makes a great trader.

New powerful and useful monitoring functions have been added to this version of Drawdown monitor EA.

Above all, monitoring can be carried out for individual positions, which are closed individually when the set values are reached.

In addition, a total drawdown can be set which, if exceeded, closes all open positions.

An important option allows positions with a specific magic number to be excluded from the max. drawdown calculation. This allows general positions to be differentiated from those of a specific EA.

Drawdown monitoring is fast even if tick refreshing is slow, e.g., at certain times of the day or in situations of low market activity.

Drawdown monitor EA can be dragged either onto the chart you use for manual trading or onto a separate chart if another EA is already present (see screenshots).

The currency pair and chart timeframe are both irrelevant.

It is a very simple but powerful system.

The variables are as follows:

Lot: Defines the size of the lot.

Take Profit: Defines the take profit in pips.

Stop Loss: Defines the stop loss in pips.

These three variables are of special importance as they will decide the performance of the trading system and its ability to function.

Sensitive: It is the size of the gap that the trading robot will use to perform the sale, in this case, the smaller the value, the more actions it will perform.

A gap whose value is negative will dictate a buy action while a gap whose value is positive will dictate a sell action, however they must be analysed by the stochastic mean to decide whether to enter the market or not.

In this case the gap is a sign of a great movement in the market and an irregular price situation occurs, in this case the trading robot will analyze and perform trading in our favour to determine if we are positive to trade in this circumstance.

Thetimeframe: It is the predefined value to apply to find the gap of the variable \"Sensitive\" as for the moving average, the lower this number will perform more actions.

k-period: Variable that calculates the number of previous bars to calculate the value of the Stochastic system.

D-Period: Variable that calculates the smoothing of the stochastic value to refine the indicator and obtain more accurate results.

Final smoothing: Final smoothing to decide whether to enter the market, use and optimize to so better result!

Percentage to close: This variable is very useful because in the case of a profit on the balance above the value (in percent), the robot will decide to close all the buy and sell shares, always closing them in profit, thus ensuring to free the available margin to continue trading.

Close Criteria (0 = Disabled)

Max Lot Size (close if >= this) Set this to the maximum lot size you want to allow on any single trade. If a position's lot size is equal to or greater than this value, it will be closed. For example, setting this to 1.0 will close any position of 1.0 lots or above. Set to 0 to disable.

Max % of Account Equity (close if >= this) Set this to the maximum percentage of your account equity that any single position's margin should represent. The EA calculates what percentage of your current equity is being used as margin for each position. If it meets or exceeds this value, the position is closed. For example, setting this to 10 will close any position using 10% or more of your equity as margin. Set to 0 to disable.

Max Profit Amount $ (close if profit+swap >= this) This acts as a profit target in dollar terms. Set this to the maximum profit (including swap) you want any single trade to reach. If a position's combined profit and swap is equal to or greater than this amount, it will be closed. For example, setting this to 200 will close any trade that reaches $200 or more in profit. Set to 0 to disable.

Max Loss Amount $ (close if loss <= -this) This acts as a stop loss in dollar terms. Set this to the maximum loss you are willing to accept on any single trade. Enter the value as a positive number. If a position's combined profit and swap falls to the negative of this amount or worse, it will be closed. For example, setting this to 100 will close any trade that reaches -$100 or worse. Set to 0 to disable.

Monitoring Settings

Check Interval (seconds) How often the EA checks all open positions. The default is 5 seconds. Lower values mean faster detection but slightly more processing. A value of 1–10 seconds is recommended for most users. The EA also checks on every new tick as a backup, so positions are monitored even during quiet market periods.

Slippage (points) The maximum allowed slippage in points when closing a position. If the price moves beyond this amount during the close attempt, the broker may reject the order. The default of 10 points is suitable for most pairs and brokers. Increase this if you trade volatile instruments or experience frequent requotes.

Max Close Retries If a close attempt fails, the EA will retry up to this number of times with a short pause between each attempt. The default is 3 retries. This helps ensure positions are closed even during periods of high volatility or temporary server issues.

Filters

Magic Number Filter (0 = All) If you only want TradeGuard to monitor positions opened by a specific EA, enter that EA's magic number here. Only positions matching this magic number will be checked. Set to 0 to monitor all positions on the account, including manual trades and trades from any EA.

Symbol Filter (blank = All) If you only want TradeGuard to monitor positions on a specific symbol, enter the symbol name here exactly as it appears in your Market Watch (e.g., EURUSD, GBPJPY). Leave blank to monitor all symbols.

Alerts

Send Push Notification When enabled, a push notification will be sent to your mobile device via the MetaTrader 5 app each time a position is closed. You must have push notifications configured in your MT5 terminal under Tools > Options > Notifications for this to work.

Log Closures to Experts Tab When enabled, all closure activity and any errors are printed to the Experts tab in your MT5 terminal. This provides a full audit trail of every action taken by the EA. Recommended to leave enabled.

Example Configurations

Account protection only — prevent oversized trades: Set Max Lot Size to 2.0 and leave everything else at 0. Any trade of 2 lots or more will be closed immediately.

Dollar-based risk management: Set Max Loss Amount to 500 and Max Money Amount to 1000. Any trade that loses $500 will be cut, and any trade that profits $1000 will be locked in.

Monitor only one EA's trades: Set Magic Number Filter to your EA's magic number. Only that EA's positions will be monitored — everything else is left untouched.

Full protection suite: Set Max Lot Size to 5.0, Max Account % to 15, Max Loss Amount to 1000, and Max Money Amount to 2000. Any position that breaches any one of these limits will be closed.

Important Notes

Can be attached to any chart on any timeframe. It monitors the entire account (or filtered positions), not just the chart it is attached to.
The EA does not open any trades. It only closes positions that breach your criteria.
All threshold inputs must be set to a value greater than 0 to be active. A value of 0 means that criterion is disabled.
Negative values in any input field will be treated as disabled.

Ao deixar estes campos preenchidos os comandos serão executados quando a quantidade de pontos for alcançada, seja na estruturação (Ad) ou realização parcial de lucros (Pa).

O Smart Trade R3 tem algumas funcionalidades que ajudam a evitar violação de regras de mesas proprietárias, como:

Não permite colocação de ordens sem stop loss definido, não permite colocação de ordens de compra e venda ao mesmo tempo, não permite enfileiramento de ordens, não permite colocar nova ordem se o saldo na conta estiver negativo em mais de 1%.

Neste EA mantemos bloqueado os botões de compra e venda a mercado, mas se apertar o botão Close, todas as posições serão fechadas, mas somente do ativo em questão. O botão X fecha todas as ordens que ainda não foram acionadas.

Se instalar o Meta Trader 5 no Smartphone, poderá copiar o código Meta Quotes Id e colocá-lo no MT5 do computador em Ferramentas/Opções/Notificações, com isto receberá mensagens SMS das etapas de execução do seu trade.

Pode ser usado em qualquer mesa proprietária que disponibiliza o Meta Trader 5.

Antes do start do EA certifique-se que a opção \"Permitir Algotrading\" está habilitada.

Parâmetros para inicialização do Smart Trade R3:

1) Risk limit per trade: Com base neste limite e no tamanho do Stop Loss, o sistema vai calcular automaticamente o tamanho do lote que poderá ser usado.

2) Negative balance limit for new orders: Caso o saldo na conta negativo acima deste percentual, o sistema não aceitará colocação de novas ordens. Será liberado somente no dia seguinte.

3) Risk limit on open positions: Os Smart Trade R3 em uso no Meta Trader 5, irão monitorar se os trades em andamento excedeu este limite negativo de saldo em aberto. Então todas as posições serão encerradas automaticamente.

4) Daily profit limit: Também é possível estabelecer um limite máximo de ganhos no dia, isto ajuda em mesas proprietárias que tem regras de consistência. Ao atingir o limite todas as posições serão encerras e aceitará novas ordens somente no dia seguinte.

5) Risk/return ratio for suggested TP: Risco / Retorno para sugestão de take profit ao colocar o Stop Loss.

6) Only one open order per Symbol? Ao ser assinalado permitirá somente uma ordem aberta em cada símbolo.

7) Market operations blocked? Para desabilitar os botões BUY e SELL, que são operações de compra ou venda a mercado.

8) Suggestions for additions ou partials? Se for assinalado, ao preencher o campo stop loss, automaticamente ele vai sugerir os campos de parciais.

Allow_BUY – Enables BUY (Long) trades for the EA.

The simple and intuitive parameters of the Expert Advisor allow you to make the correct settings on any instrument and timeframe. The ability to configure each trading level separately and independently of the others allows for very precise tuning of this Expert Advisor. The EA uses only limit orders, which automatically protects against an increase in the spread and negative slippage. Settings for any trading style can be made independently in the strategy tester (Ctrl+R)

Examples of self-configuration:

Trading in a non-main active session: For example, take EURUSD. If we exclude the time from trading from 17: 00 to 22: 00 (UTC+3), then we will remove news and other sources of increased volatility.
