Each EMA has a color to represent it; this is fundamental.

EMA1: 9 Periods (Yellow)

EMA2: 15 Periods (Blue)

EMA3: 30 Periods (Red)

EMA4: 65 Periods (Green)

EMA5: 200 Periods (White)

To easily find an entry point, whether buy or sell, use the lower timeframes: M1, M3, and M5.

Always follow the order of the first three EMAs: Yellow, Blue, and Red.

The Yellow EMA is always the one most closely aligned with the candlesticks or the price.

To find a buy opportunity, the Yellow EMA must always be above the Blue and Red EMAs.

Example: Buy: The Yellow EMA, the one most closely aligned with the price, must be above the Blue EMA. The Blue EMA must always be below the Yellow EMA and above the Red EMA. And the Red EMA must always be below the Blue and Yellow EMAs, in that order. From top to bottom

Example: Remember that the Yellow EMA always follows the price, and for a sell order, the Blue EMA must be above the Yellow EMA. The Red EMA must also always be above the Blue EMA. I'll attach images for better understanding.

Don't pay too much attention to the other EMAs; they're just there to track the price. The first three EMAs are the ones that give you the entry signal.

Remember to do backtesting to better understand them. Always test on all timeframes to fully grasp how they work. The take profit is up to you; set it as you see fit.

When price touches a Supply or Demand zone, it means the price very likely will have some reversal. If prices hesitate or goes with strong momentum, breaking those levels, it’s a clear signal of more continuation of the movement. So, either scenario is a good moment to make your operations because you will have a very good price.

Whenever you enter in one operation, you can use Ultimate Supply Demand to define your Take Profit or Stop Loss. Frequency: To calculate the number of Levels you want, the min width between them. Smaller values means more Levels so less distance between them. Bigger values mean more distance between them so less levels.

(The calculated Levels at any time with all Dev/Freq combinations are suitable for all means. Calculation will always be precise and will give you the key levels under your settings. Deviation and Frequency just act like a customizable feature in order to give the user the option to accurately addapt the levels to his own personal style and use. E.g. if you want to use it for scalping, you want to use more levels so less Frequency; to use it for Grid Levels, you may want to increase the Frequency. Use the Dashboard to easily decide)

Use white background for chart: Set this to false if you just want to use default black background color.
Supply Pattern Color: color of supply patterns.
Demand Pattern Color: color of demand patterns
Neutral Pattern Color: color of neural patterns or no patterns.

When you run with Excessive Momentum Indicator, C point of Excessive Momentum become the selling climax (SC) or the buying climax (BC). No gráfico principal, permite extender os indicadores para até 610 \r\n candles no futuro. No strategy tester permite extender os indicadores para o futuro a partir de qualquer candle no passado (\"back \r\n to the future\"). No testador de estratégia, são necessários pelo menos 610 candles serem carregados no passado para que o \r\n indicador exiba as linhas e começe a funcionar no modo FUTURO.

\r\n

O Modo FUTURO funciona tanto no after market (mercado parado) quanto com o mercado ao vivo. Quando o indicador é carregado, as \r\n linhas são calculadas e ficam congeladas, não sendo atualizadas com os novos candles. No modo FUTURO, você pode recalcular \r\n (atualizar) os indicadores até o último candle disponível apertando a tecla BACKSPACE (isso apaga qualquer desenho futuro que vc \r\n tenha feito antes).

Usando a tecla SHIFT, vc escolhe entre \"CREATE MODE\" e \"ADJUST MODE\". No \"CREATE MODE\" cada click do lado direito do gráfico traça uma \r\n nova linha de preços no futuro, a partir do final da última linha traçada. No \"ADJUST MODE\", cada click modifica o ponto final da \r\n última linha de preços traçada. How to use:

After downloading and installing the indicator, run it on a chart, a rectangle will be appeared on the most recent candles. By moving your mouse, the Volume Profile of this default area will be drawn one candle after the end of the rectangle. Move the rectangle, from its middle point or its right/left edges, to the place where you want to see its Volume Profile. The indicator should instantly draw VP. If “tick calculation” is enabled, it may take some time to download the necessary tick data. Generally, the fastest calculation will be done when “calculation timeframe” is set to “current”, going deep into lower timeframes for calculation may take some time before drawing VP bars.
Every VP bar covers a range of price. If you want this price range to be fixed, set “Fiexed Bar Height” parameter to your desired value (in points). Otherwise, you can set the indicator to show you a fixed number of bars wherever you apply the indicator. In this case, set the “Fiexed Bar Height” parameter to zero, and the “Number of VP Bars” parameter to your desired number.
You can set Value Area Percentage, or when you don’t need it, you can set its color parameter (“VA color”) to NONE.
You can enable/disable Developing POC and Anchored VWAP.
To set the length of VP bars, there is a “Ratio” parameter in the input, that is in fact the ratio of POC length (the longest VP bar) to the chart width.
If you are not satisfied with visual presentation of volume traded at each level through VP bars, you can set a color for “Traded Volume Text Color” parameter to see the actual number of traded volume at each VP bar (indicator will not, and cannot, show these numbers when VP bar height is too small).
If you are interested in “Sessions Volume Profile,” which needs VP to be applied multiple times on the chart, just set different numbers for the last parameter of the input in every new running of the indicator, and you will be able to run as many VP on the chart as you wish.
Set the “Bars Color Transparency” parameter to lower numbers (between 50-0) if you are more interested to see the price candles, not VP bars, and to higher numbers (between 50-100) if you want to see VP bars more clearly.
When you set a color for “Buy Pressure” parameter, every VP bar that in its price range the buyers were stronger than sellers will be shown with that color, and the same goes for “Sell Pressure” parameter.

Apply to Chart: Return to MT5, find the \"MTFcandles\" indicator in the Navigator window (usually at the bottom), and drag it onto your desired chart.

Configuration Parameters Explained (Inputs)

When you drag the indicator onto a chart, a window will appear with the following options:

Colors Group:
- Up - Border Color : The color of the border for a bullish HTF candle.
- Down - Border Color : The color of the border for a bearish HTF candle.
- Up - Fill Color : The fill color for a bullish HTF candle (a light, transparent color is recommended).

Sizing Group:
- Higher Timeframe : This is the most important parameter. Select the higher timeframe you want to display. NOTE: This timeframe must be greater than the current chart's timeframe (e.g., select PERIOD_H1 for an M15 chart; do not select PERIOD_M5 ).
- Border Width : The thickness of the HTF candle's border.

How to Read the Indicator on the Chart

The Large Candle Blocks: These are the candles from the higher timeframe (HTF) you selected. Their color tells you the primary trend for that period (e.g., a green H4 block shows that buyers were in control for those 4 hours).
HTF Body and Wicks:
- The top and bottom edges of the HTF candle body are the Open and Close prices for that timeframe.
- The highest and lowest points of the HTF wicks are the High and Low prices for that timeframe.

Trading Applications: Effective Strategies

This is the most crucial part for turning the indicator into a trading advantage.

Strategy 1: Trading with the Main Trend (Trend Confirmation)
- Concept: Only enter trades that align with the higher timeframe's trend to increase the probability of success.
- Application: Open an M15 chart and apply the indicator with the H4 timeframe. If you see that the recent H4 candle blocks are predominantly green (uptrend), then focus only on looking for BUY signals on the M15 chart (e.g., breakouts, bullish patterns, MA crossovers). Ignore sell signals as they are counter-trend and high-risk.
Strategy 2: Using HTF High/Low as Dynamic Support/Resistance
- Concept: The high and low of the previous HTF candle are extremely significant levels for the current HTF candle.
- Application: On an M5 chart, apply the H1 indicator. Assume the previous hour's H1 candle has closed. Mark its High and Low. During the current hour, as the price on the M5 chart approaches these levels, they will act as strong support/resistance zones. A decisive breakout above the previous H1 high is a strong buy signal.
Strategy 3: Identifying Powerful HTF Candle Patterns
- Concept: Candle patterns like Engulfing or Pin Bars on a higher timeframe are highly reliable.
- Application: On an M30 chart, apply the D1 indicator. If you spot a giant red D1 candle block that completely \"engulfs\" the previous day's green block (Bearish Engulfing), this is a very strong sell signal for the entire day. Your job is to then move down to the M30 or H1 chart to find an optimal SELL entry point.
Strategy 4: Breakout Confirmation
- Concept: A breakout on a lower timeframe is much more reliable if it's confirmed by the higher timeframe.
- Application: The price on an H1 chart is approaching a key weekly resistance level. Instead of entering as soon as the H1 candle breaks out, wait patiently for the D1 candle block to also close above that resistance level. This confirmation shows that buyers are truly in control and minimizes the risk of a \"false breakout.\"
Advanced Tip: Combine Multiple MTF Layers You can drag the indicator onto the chart multiple times. For example, on an M15 chart, you could apply:
1. One MTF indicator with the H1 timeframe.
2. A second MTF indicator with the H4 timeframe. This gives you a multi-layered view of the market structure, from the short-term trend (H1) to the medium-term trend (H4).

Conclusion

The MTF Candles indicator is not a \"holy grail,\" but it is an extremely effective analysis tool that helps you:

Filter out lower-timeframe noise.

Pre Note: The indicator uses the Open price value for calculations.

This indicator represents a genuine momentum oscillator according to the true definition of \"Momentum\", and as realised by the techniques of digital filters. Scholarly papers on the subject by the current developer can be found here and here, but in this description we shall borrow only the minimum of conceptual and mathematical framework needed. In the process, we expose some long-held myths about indicators supposedly measuring price momentum, and in particular the one called the \"Momentum Oscillator\", which is included among the standard MT indicators.

In my earlier free indicators (MT4: DFT of Price and Q n D Frequency Response) , one can get an introduction to frequency analysis to obtain the recognition that many technical indicators have the form of linear digital filters.

An ideal price momentum oscillator has the magnitude frequency response shown in the second screenshot. The response is linear up to a cutoff frequency beyond which all higher frequencies are filtered out to eliminate the noise. The bigger the cutoff frequency the faster the response (maximum 0.5) .The initial linear region is necessary for the filter to act as a differentiator, which is the embodiment of the concept of momentum. A filter with such a frequency response is called a Low Pass Differentiator (LPD), and is subject to much research in the field of digital signal processing (DSP) . Actual filters meeting this criterion must necessarily have a large filter order resulting in a huge signal lag. So in practice, the goal is to only approximate this delta shaped frequency response.

The third screenshot shows the frequency response of the \"Momentum Oscillator\" on the of MT4 terminal. It looks very different from the LPD response just explained. Metaquotes Corp would do well dropping it from its platform! Careful investigation of the oscillator shows many inconsistencies between price movements and indicator movements (and I am not talking about divergences).

The fourth screenshot shows a comparison of the frequency response of the MACD and the Biquad LPD. Both have the necessary features to be recognised as momentum oscillators (and also the Awsome Oscillator) . But the Biquad LPD is better. It is more linear in the linear region and quenches more high frequency noise. The lag is also lower than the MACD in the important frequency range (screenshot five). The high noise suppression of the LPD allows the implementation of the true acceleration having a parabolic frequency response as shown in screen shot 6. Compare to screenshot five with the inappropriate form of the MT4 platform Acceleration oscillator calculated from the Awesome oscillator.

FINALLY, about the indicator function, appearance and usage: the indicator calculates and plots the Biquad LPD for the selected inputs. Green histogram lines are go long signal, and Red regions go short. The indicator can be called via \"iCustom\" to import the first buffer signal which is +10 for long and -10 for short and 0 otherwise. The signal is always on, but it can be monitored (if desired) by the input options. There are three modes for signalling which are subject for optimisation.

More Observations on \"Momentum Oscillator\":

Unfortunately, there are numerous misconceptions in this field, and many times claims are made without proof, or even a proper understanding. We will concentrate here on claims dealing with momentum, they are:

1- The conventional indicator \"Momentum Oscillator\", being the difference (or ratio) between the the current price and the price p- periods has already been falsified in my preprint here . Momentum is not calculated as the difference in price.

2. Although the MACD possesses some of the required features to fit the description of a momentum oscillator (see my pre-print), this is by accident - not by design. It is not in general true that momentum can be defined as the difference between a fast moving average and a slow moving average.

3. The claim that momentum oscillators are leading indicators needs clarification. The terms \"leading\" or \"lagging\" have very specific meanings in the mathematics of oscillations, and in physics. The output of a digital filter always lags the input, as necessitated by the principle of causality. So what is really meant by the MACD, for example, being a leading indicator? Momentum is a quantity related to motion and its direction.As a momentum oscillator, the most important information it can provide is the direction of price. A positive MACD ought to indicate increasing price, while negative means decreasing price. Since price changing direction is one of the most important factor in trading decisions, then the zero-crossing of the MACD line, which supposedly means price changing direction, ought to be the the most important piece of information from this indicator. But if you pay attention to all zero crossings of the MACD (use long periods to minimise volatility effects), you will find that they are always delayed relative to the the price reversal visible on the price chart. They never lead. But the claim of technical analysts is that the VALUE REVERSAL of the oscillator happens before the reversal of price. This could happen, but without certainty. When we consider the reversal of a proper momentum oscillator, we are investigating the acceleration (or deceleration) of price. It is true that acceleration determines the price motion after an interval in time, at the assumption the acceleration is constant or not changing very much - but this is seldom the case. Anyway, the momentum oscillator should be of high quality and very low noise to discern acceleration. But the main MACD line crossing the 9 period signal line is not high quality.

3. A true momentum oscillator does not represent the price itself, rather, it represents the change in the price. So trying to read into the price trend from the momentum oscillator is wrong in principle. The reason that there is remnant info of the trend (like tops or bottoms) has to do with the the \"leakage\" of the filter. All this info should have been removed by the momentum oscillator. Consider the filter having the near perfect frequency response shown in screenshot 8 (next to last), this filter was designed by Matlab's Filter Design App in the Signal Processing utility. The oscillator given by this filter is shown in screenshot 9 (last), Only smooth curving lines are visible, there is no information about trend. But notice how much lagging this oscillator is relative to the price itself. It has a perfect momentum oscillator shape, but it is useless because of the large lag. Those who try to read the trend from a momentum oscillator are milking the sickly cow. (This does not apply to my Biquad High Pass Filter , whose purpose is to accentuate divergences and small/medium range trends, or to the RSI for example, because the RSI is not a momentum oscillator as erroneously considered, but is a high pass filter detrender).

4. Because trend-following is meaningless for a momentum oscillator, and because all tops and bottoms should disappear in a good oscillator, then it follows that following divergences is not a good practice. Again, here one is trying to read from undiscarded refuse.

5. Does the slope of a moving average indicate momentum ? Yes ! But the moving average (or low pass filter) must satisfy the crucial condition of having flat pass-bands in its magnitude frequency response. For example, none of the standard averages SMA, EMA or LWMA have flat passbands. If you have the time, please install and play with my Quick n Dirty Frequency Response indicator.

The take from this discussion is this: Only zero crossings and oscillator value reversals have a well established meaning. If the momentum oscillator is of high quality (i.e. linear frequency rise, low noise, and low lag.), then it becomes an effective tool for trading.

Final Note: I have spent a considerable amount of time and effort searching for the ultimate linear momentum LPD oscillator. Versions do exist,for example LPD's designed by the Filter Design App of Matlab (differentiator design), are exquisite . See the last screenshot. But they have a very long lag. The ones designed by the equiripple method allow (with a little trickery) to get properly normalised minimum phase filters. But these are still laggy compared with the Biquad (which, like the MACD and others, is a fast IIR filter). Even doing tricks like using interpolation techniques have disadvantages, they improve the lag in some frequency ranges but introduce more noise in others. There is always a trade-off between the different oscillators: if they are better in one area, they are worse in another area. For this reason, one should pick a a momentum oscillator, and get to know its strength and weaknesses. This is the only way to be successful. The Biquad introduced here is not bad at all. But I provide some of my other \"high tech\" momentum oscillators (MT4: here) .

How to Use: Practical Scenarios

1. Identifying Compression and Breakouts (Volatility Squeeze) Markets cycle between low volatility (compression) and high volatility (expansion). The Adaptive Bands visualize this cycle.

Compression: When the Upper and Lower bands move closer together, it indicates the market is entering a low-volatility \"squeeze.\" This is often a precursor to a significant price move.
- Signal: Watch for the cRSI to break out of the squeezed bands. This often marks the start of a new trend.
Expansion: When the bands widen significantly, volatility is high. If the cRSI line stays \"pinned\" to the upper or lower band during expansion, it confirms a strong trend. Avoid counter-trend trading during these expansions.

2. Trading Lateral (Sideways) Markets In a ranging market, price lacks a clear direction. The Adaptive Bands automatically contract to fit the range, providing dynamic support and resistance levels.

3. Spotting Reversals and Continuations (Divergences) The indicator automatically detects and labels four types of divergences to help you identify reversals or trend continuations.

Regular Divergence (Possible Reversal)
- Bullish: Price makes a Lower Low, but cRSI makes a Higher Low. This suggests selling pressure is fading and a reversal up is likely.
- Bearish: Price makes a Higher High, but cRSI makes a Lower High. This suggests buying pressure is fading and a reversal down is likely.
Hidden Divergence (Trend Continuation)

Hidden Bullish: Price makes a Higher Low (in an uptrend), but cRSI makes a Lower Low. This suggests the dip is an opportunity to buy for trend continuation.
Hidden Bearish: Price makes a Lower High (in a downtrend), but cRSI makes a Higher High. This indicates a \"cool off\" in the oscillator during a downtrend and suggests the downward trend will continue.

(Just because you see divergence (bear or hidden bear) does not mean a price is going to go down. Often price continues to rise through bears, so take note and that is normal)

4. Trend Filtering with VWMA The indicator includes an optional Volume-Weighted Moving Average (VWMA) for the main chart.

Trend Confirmation: Use the VWMA to filter your oscillator signals. If the VWMA is sloped upward (Green), look primarily for Buy signals. If sloped downward (Red), look primarily for Sell signals.

Input Parameters (can be modified in properties)

InpDomCycle: The Dominant Cycle Length (Default: 10). Controls the sensitivity of the cycle smoothing.
InpCrsiMaLen: Length of the Signal Line (WMA).
InpShowVWMA: Toggles the main chart overlay on/off.
InpTopBottomLookback: Sensitivity for detecting tops and bottoms for divergence calculations.
