Main Settings of the Indicator:

Buffer candles for scanning – buffer of candlesticks that is used for searching for patterns (recommended to set a value from 10 to 100, values more than 100 may slow down the system).
Color down arrow – color of the down arrow.
Color up arrow – color of the up arrow.
The text color of single candlestick patterns – color of the caption for one candlestick patterns.
Text color double candlestick patterns – color of the caption for two candlestick patterns.
Text color triple candlestick patterns – color of the caption for three candlestick patterns.
Text size – text size.
Text font – text font.
Coefficient of trend detection model – coefficient of trend to start searching for patterns.
Shadow Umbrella Up (unlike the body) – maximal shadow of an up \"Paper Umbrella\" candlestick relative to the body (for the Hammer and Hanging Man patterns).
Shadow Umbrella Down (unlike the body) – minimal shadow of a down \"Paper Umbrella\" candlestick relative to the body (for the Hammer and Hanging Man patterns).

The Strategy of the Indicator

When the indicator line crosses 80% level upwards, we buy. When the indicator line crosses 20% level downwards, we sell.

It is important to buy or sell when a signal candlestick is formed. You should buy or sell on the first signal. It is not recommended to buy more as well as to make new orders on further signals in the same direction.

The signal candlestick must significantly overlap the previous candlestick, but doesn't have to do it completely.

The Indicator Settings

The indicator settings are quite simple. You only should set data according to the size of candlesticks in ticks.

BodyMiddle – maximum size of a medium body;
BodySmall – maximum size of a small body;
BodyZero – maximum size of the smallest body (usually 0 or 1);
ShadowUpMiddle – maximum size of a medium upper shadow;
ShadowUpSmall – maximum size of a small upper shadow;
ShadowUpZero – maximum size of the smallest upper shadow;
ShadowDownMiddle – maximum size of a medium lower shadow;
ShadowDownSmall – maximum size of a small lower shadow;
ShadowDownZero – maximum size of the smallest lower shadow.

In the standard MACD, this is the zero line. Those. if you want to use standard values with a zero terminator, use the CONST for the terminator line with a period of 0. In this indicator, the terminator can be a moving average calculated from the base calculated line specified in the UsedLine parameter. Accordingly, the divergence is calculated as the difference in the deviation of adjacent unidirectional peaks from the terminator line.

The signals of this indicator are divergence signals. This is not necessarily a reversal, but definitely a weakening of the trend. With other positive conditions, it is worth entering the market using this indicator when the terminator line is broken by a divergent wave, expecting a long trend. It is also possible that the emerging divergence is not justified and the price continues to move. On the histogram, this will look like the color of the divergence, replaced by the color of a simple movement. In this case, the price movement will continue at least one more wave (as a rule).

The divergence colors correspond to the intuitive: blue - looking for purchases, red - sales.

Note: the next divergence cancels the previous one!

In my opinion, the indicator demonstrates the best results with default settings, but you can find parameters more suitable for you.

We do we need it? Looking through the operation results of my favorite Expert Advisor in the strategy tester I noticed that most deals it opened during the Asian session were unprofitable. It would be a great idea to see it on a graph, I thought. And that was the time I bumped into the first problem - viewing only the Asian session on a chart. And hiding all the others. It is not a problem to find the work schedule of exchanges in Tokyo or Singapore, but how to highlight their operation time only and nothing else?

The second problem appeared later. For some reason all the deals performed on Thursdays were unprofitable, while on the other days everything went good. What was wrong with Thursdays so that my Expert Advisor couldn't cope with them? I started analyzing the situation, and so I needed to highlight all Thursdays on a chart. This was the second problem.

The third problem appeared when I decided to compare the price behavior between two sessions. I thought that the American session was somehow connected with the Asian one, so I needed to highlight both of them and remove all the rest. And that was the third problem.

Comparing these problems, I had come to a decision to start doing something, so I started developing an indicator that would solve all these problems. That is how the GoodTime indicator appeared.

GoodTime:

highlights any time periods, for example, sessions;
can highlight a selected day only, for example, Thursday;
adds a caption to every highlighted period, for example, \"Tokio THU\";
highlights bars, candlesticks or lines automatically tracking the representation type selected for your chart;
highlights selected interval with vertical filling;
or by underlining;
or searches for a minimum and maximum value of the price at a selected time range and then highlights the range between the minimum and the maximum point.

Several instances of the GoodTime indicator can work on the same chart at the same time; they will highlight different periods. Thus you can highlight two trade sessions and compare them with each other.

GoodTime can be used for making statements and screenshots, where you can draw attention to specific bars or candlesticks on a chart. You can use it for analyzing Expert Advisors by highlighting trade sessions and week days on a chart for further examination.

GoodTime is also suitable for manual trading as it highlights the work time of your colleagues located in other time zones and general trade sessions.

The parameters of the indicator allow setting up the chart appearance:

Ticks on chart – number of last displayed deals.
Scale in pips – height of the vertical scale in points. You should adjust the value considering the current volatility.
Color volume buy – color of a buy deal marker.
Color volume sell – color of a sell deal marker.
Color label – color of a volume caption on a deal marker.

Pay attention to the following features:

The indicator will not work in the strategy tester, only on a real market. You can see how it works on the video.

While filling in Instruments, please, make sure you enter existing symbols. If Instruments parameter contains a symbol missing in Market Watch, the indicator tries to add it automatically for you. If the symbol is misspelled or unavailable on your server, an error occurs - you'll see the message \"Errors! Check the log\" on the chart. All details about errors and warning are logged in the Experts log.

\r\n

When number of Instruments is greater than 8, all of them participate in calculations and affect chart lines, but only first 8 are displayed. Though it's feasible to have more than 8 lines, it would produce difficulties with perception. Moreover, each next instrument added to the cluster affects the whole picture less.

\r\n

Please, be patient. The indicator calculates a bunch of moving averages for every symbol, for different time frames. When it's placed on a chart first time, the process may take a while, usually this means some data has being still downloading and calculating. All necessary refreshes take place automatically. You should interfere only if you see the above mentioned error message in the chart.

Esta versão do indicador é universal e tem três modos de operação:

Móvel - neste modo o indicador funciona com uma média móvel, Mas, ao contrário da SMA padrão, tem defasagens menores durante os grandes movimentos! Os desvios quadrangulares das bandas podem ser usados da mesma forma que o indicador Bollinger Bands.
Período - neste modo os cálculos são realizados do início até o final do período acumulado (sobre cada barra, o valor é calculado para todo o período desde o princípio, considerando assim todos os valores desde o início). Os desvios quadrangulares das bandas produzem níveis de suportes e resistências de alta qualidade.
Tempo - neste modo os cácluculos são similares ao modo \"Period\". A diferença é que o início e o fim do período podem ser configurados manualmente. O período máximo neste modo não pode exceder a 24 horas.

Max Bars - número de barras para o cáclculo no gráfico (0 - usa todo o histórico).
Use Mode - seleção dos modos. São 3 modos disponíveis: Moving, Period, Timer.
Applied Price -tipo de preço.
Applied Volume - tipo de volume (escolher tick ou real).
Set Moving Mode - configuração do modo \"Moving\" .
Moving Period - cálculo do período do modo \"Moving\".
Set Period Mode - configuração do modo \"Period\".
Available Period - valore dos períodos padrão: Hora, Dia, Semana, Asia, Europe, NYSE, CME ou Personalizado.
Custom Period - período personalizado (em minutos).
Set Timer Mode - configuração do modo \"Timer\" .
Start Timer - início do período para o modo \"timer\".
TStop Timer - fim do período para o modo \"Timer\".
Set Deviation - configuração da exibição dos desvios.
Show Deviation 1 - exibir o primeiro desvio quadrangular.
Show Deviation 2 - exibir o segundo desvio quadrangular.
Show Deviation 3 - exibir o terceiro desvio quandrangular.

This indicator gives full information about the market state: strength and direction of a trend, volatility and price movement channel. It has two graphical components:

Histogram: the size and the color of a bar show the strength and direction of a trend. Positive values show an ascending trend and negative values - a descending trend. Green bar is for up motion, red one - for down motion, and the yellow one means no trend. Signal line is the value of the histogram (you can enable divergence search).
Trend channel: upper border, lower border and the center of the channel (middle line). Color of the middle line shows the slope of the channel, and the channel width shows the volatility.

Trading

\r\n

Buy: signal line have crossed the lower border of the channel, the histogram shows the beginning of upward motion. The line is either yellow (channel is horizontal) or green (the channel is directed upwards). It is recommended to move the position to breakeven when reaching the middle of the channel. Close positions when conditions for selling are formed.
Sell: signal line have crossed the upper border of the channel, the histogram shows the beginning of downward motion. The line is either yellow (channel is horizontal) or red (the channel is directed downwards). It is recommended to move the position to breakeven when reaching the middle of the channel. Close positions when conditions for buying are formed.

\r\n

You can also use divergence for entering deals. If a divergence signal is received after the signal line crossed the channel border, you can enter in the direction of the opposite border of the channel without waiting for confirmation from the histogram. It is not recommended to enter a trade at low volatility of the market (when the channel is narrow). It is not recommended to sell when the channel is directed upwards (the middle line is green). It is not recommended to buy when the channel is directed downwards (the middle line is red).

\r\n

The histogram represents a graph of changes of the regression line slope. The channel is the standard deviation from the average slope of the regression line.

\r\n

Input Parameters:

Period histogram - period for calculation of the histogram, 24 on default;
Treshold histogram - threshold value for displaying the histogram when there is no trend, 6.0 on default (range: from -6.0 to 6.0);
Period volatility band - period for calculation of the volatility channel, 24 on default;
Treshold volatility band - threshold value for displaying the horizontal orientation of the trend channel, 3.0 on default (range: from -3.0 to 3.0);
Display cross bands volatility alert - notification when the signal line crosses the channel borders, true on default;
