Despite better-than-expected adjusted EPS of $2.74, shares of Dover fell 7.8% on Jul. 23 as Q2 2026 revenue of $2.19 billion, though up 7% year-over-year, missed the consensus. Investor concerns were amplified by 5% year-over-year organic revenue decline in Europe, despite 4.8% total organic growth and bookings rising to $2.33 billion.

Although Dover raised fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $10.55 - $10.75 from its prior outlook, the relatively soft top line, uneven regional demand and continued input-cost inflation weighed on sentiment.

For the fiscal year ending in December 2026, analysts expect Dover’s adjusted EPS to grow over 11% year-over-year to $10.67. The company's earnings surprise history is promising. It topped the consensus estimates in each of the last four quarters.
