Nordson Stock: Is NDSN Outperforming the Industrial Sector?

Westlake, Ohio-based Nordson Corporation (NDSN) engineers, manufactures, and markets products and systems to dispense, apply, and control adhesives, coatings, polymers, sealants, biomaterials, and other fluids. Valued at $17.8 billion by market cap, the company's products include customized electronic controls for the precise application and curing of materials to meet customers' requirements.

NDSN's strengths include its diversified product lineup and global presence. This international diversification reduces market risk and positions the company to capitalize on global growth opportunities, supported by operations in over 35 countries.

NDSN has outperformed over the past year due to consecutive earnings beats and strong operational momentum, capped by record fiscal Q3 2026 results. This outperformance was primarily driven by a massive acceleration in its Advanced Technology Solutions segment, thanks to booming demand for semiconductor packaging and electronics manufacturing equipment. Coupled with broad-based organic growth across its Medical and Industrial segments, a surge in order backlog, high EBITDA margins, and subsequent upward revisions to its full-year guidance, NDSN has consistently delivered the visibility and profitable growth required to push its share price higher.

On Aug. 19, NDSN reported its Q3 results, and its shares jumped 8% in the following trading session. Its adjusted EPS of $3.25 beat Wall Street expectations of $3.09. The company’s revenue was $817.7 million, up 10.3% year over year. NDSN expects full-year adjusted EPS in the range of $11.80 to $12, and revenue in the range of $3 billion to $3.1 billion.

NDSN’s rival, Graco Inc. (GGG) has lagged behind the stock, with 5.3% dip on a YTD basis and an 8.1% downtick over the past 52 weeks.

Wall Street analysts are reasonably bullish on NDSN’s prospects. The stock has a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating from the seven analysts covering it, and the mean price target of $356.14 suggests a potential upside of 11.4% from current price levels.
