CoStar Group's Quarterly Earnings Preview: What You Need to Know

Arlington, Virginia-based CoStar Group, Inc. (CSGP) provides information, analytics, and online marketplace services to real estate and related business communities in the United States and internationally. The company has a market cap of $11.2 billion and a wide array of digital service offerings, including leasing and selling marketplaces, sales comparable information, decision support, contact management, tenant information, and more.

CSGP is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, after the market closes. Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $0.28 on a diluted basis, up 154.6% from $0.11 in the year-ago quarter. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s EPS estimates in each of its last four quarters.

For fiscal 2026, analysts project the company’s EPS to be $1.07, up 101.9% from $0.53 in fiscal 2025. Moreover, its EPS is expected to rise by roughly 32.7% year over year (YoY) to $1.42 in fiscal 2027.

CSGP stock has fallen 66% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 15.8% rise and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLRE) 3.4% decline during the same time frame.

Analysts and investors are wary of CSGP stock because of its shaky fundamentals. The company’s costs have risen faster than its revenue over the last five years, leading to a decline in its operating margin by 16.3%. Moreover, its free cash flow margin has also fallen by 10.8% over the past five years. Also, the company has been experiencing a decline in its return on capital, while already being in a weak position, indicating no returns from previous investments. 

Analysts are somewhat optimistic on CSGP, with the stock having a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Among the 20 analysts covering the stock, nine are recommending a “Strong Buy,” one recommends a “Moderate Buy,” nine suggest a “Hold,” and one suggests a “Strong Sell” for the stock. CSGP’s average analyst price target is $36, indicating an upside of 29.7% from the current price point.
