With Robust Growth, Palantir Stock Is Worth Considering at a Premium

The Nasdaq has witnessed some correction of late. WisdomTree's Jeremy Siegel recently warned that the Nasdaq Composite ($NASX) could potentially decline by 30% if artificial intelligence (AI) spending fails to bring in anticipated returns. On the other hand, Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang is confident that the current market turmoil is “going to pass.” Amidst these views and market volatility, the best strategy is to accumulate quality stocks.

Palantir (PLTR) has remained largely sideways in the last 52 weeks. While its valuations remain at a premium, the time correction seems like a good opportunity to accumulate shares of a business with a strong moat.

Recently, PLTR stock was in the spotlight after the company announced a new partnership with Knox Systems for software delivery to the U.S. government. This deal will support more than 100 software and AI apps across federal environments with a focus on FedRAMP and IL5. It’s worth noting that Knox, with its services, is a potential rival for Palantir. However, this deal allows the companies to cover a significant market together instead of competing. At the same time, the agreement positions Palantir for further expansion within the U.S. government ecosystem.

About Palantir Stock

Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Aventura, Florida, Palantir started building software for the intelligence community in the United States to assist in counterterrorism investigations and operations. Over the years, the company has built four principal software platforms: Gotham, Foundry, Apollo, and the Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP). These platforms provide the critical infrastructure needed to integrate customers’ data and operations and run their software in virtually any environment.

While Palantir started building platforms for the government sector, it has since diversified to provide solutions to commercial customers as well. For fiscal 2025, the company generated 54% of revenue from the government segment and 46% from the commercial segment. Palantir has also diversified from a geographic perspective; for fiscal 2025, the company generated 26% of revenue from outside the United States.

Palantir has been on a robust growth trajectory, reporting second-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $1.935 billion, up 93% year-over-year (YOY). The company also ended Q2 with a total contract value of $3.73 billion, which was higher by 49% YOY.

Backed by healthy growth, PLTR stock has trended higher by 38% in the last six months.

Palantir's Robust Growth Trajectory

Palantir co-founder and CEO Alex Karp opined in a letter to shareholders that the “business is compounding at a rate and scale that we have never before witnessed.” Karp further mentioned that the core of Palantir's business in the United States “continues to expand at an unrelenting and breakneck pace.”

These comments underscore management's confidence in terms of growth and sustained value creation. Amidst robust top-line growth, there were also other positives in the most recent quarterly financials. For example, adjusted free cash flow swelled to $1.22 billion in Q2 2026, implying annualized adjusted FCF of almost $5 billion.

Considering the client additions and revenue growth trajectory, it’s likely that cash flows will continue to swell for the company. Additionally, Palantir ended Q2 with a clean balance sheet and $9.2 billion in cash. This provides the company with high flexibility to continue investing in innovation and platform development.

What Do Analysts Say About PLTR Stock?

While the valuation seems stretched at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 147.9 times, Palantir is on a high-growth trajectory in an industry with structural tailwinds. The outlook therefore remains optimistic.

Based on 30 analysts with coverage, PLTR stock has a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating overall. While 21 analysts have a “Strong Buy” rating, one has a “Moderate Buy,” six have a “Hold,” one has a “Moderate Sell,” and one analyst has a “Strong Sell” rating. The mean price target of $210.96 represents marginal potential upside of 5% from current levels. However, the most bullish price target of $265 suggests that PLTR stock could climb as much as 31% from here.
