DaVita Earnings Preview: What to Expect

Denver, Colorado-based DaVita Inc. (DVA) provides dialysis services to patients with chronic kidney failure in the United States. The company has a market cap of $11.3 billion and operates kidney dialysis centers and provides related lab services in outpatient dialysis centers. DVA is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings on Thursday, October 29, 2026, after the market closes.

Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $3.78 on a diluted basis, up 50.6% from $2.51 in the year-ago quarter. The company has exceeded Wall Street’s EPS estimates in three of its last four quarters, while missing on one occasion.

For fiscal 2026, analysts project the company’s EPS to be $14.57, up 35.2% from $10.78 in fiscal 2025. Moreover, its EPS is expected to rise by roughly 18.4% year over year (YoY) to $17.25 in fiscal 2027.

DVA stock has surged 37.1% over the past 52 weeks, outperforming the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 15.2% rise and the State Street Healthcare Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLV) 23.5% rise during the same time frame.

Despite outperforming the broader market over the past year, the company’s last earnings announcement did not go very well with investors. DVA stock tanked nearly 17.2% on Aug. 4, following the release of its Q2 2026 earnings. The company surpassed its adjusted EPS estimates, coming in at $4.02, and also came in line with its revenue estimate, amounting to $3.6 billion. Investors focused on weaker revenue per treatment, which fell to $415.8, mainly caused by lower dialysis enrollment due to the loss of pandemic-era ACA subsidies and reduced phosphate-binder revenue. Additionally, the company’s fiscal 2026 EPS guidance of $14.10 - $15.20 also came below analyst estimates.

Analysts are somewhat optimistic about DVA, with the stock having a “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Among the eight analysts covering the stock, three are recommending a “Strong Buy,” four suggest a “Hold,” and one suggests a “Moderate Sell.” DVA’s average analyst price target is $223.43, indicating an upside of 26.4% from the current level.
