Moderna's dramatic outperformance over the past year has been fueled by massive momentum in its oncology pipeline, highlighted by landmark Phase 3 trial data for its individualized neoantigen therapy (intismeran autogene) combined with Merck & Co., Inc.’s (MRK) KEYTRUDA in melanoma, alongside broader validation from new product approvals like its mRNA flu vaccine, mFLUSIVA, and excitement surrounding a proposed U.S. public-private initiative to fast-track cancer vaccine development.

Analysts’ consensus opinion on MRNA stock is cautious, with a “Hold” rating overall. Out of 23 analysts covering the stock, four advise a “Strong Buy” rating, 16 give a “Hold,” and three recommend a “Strong Sell.” While MRNA currently trades above its mean price target of $133.24, the Street-high price target of $236 suggests an upside potential of 17.9%.
