Are Wall Street Analysts Predicting Vertiv Holdings Stock Will Climb or Sink?

Westerville, Ohio-based Vertiv Holdings Co (VRT) designs, manufactures, and services critical digital infrastructure technologies and life cycle services for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial environments. Valued at $79.1 billion by market cap, the company provides DC power systems, heat rejection, power transfer switches, monitoring equipment, power control, and holistic data center cooling solutions.

Shares of this global leader in critical digital infrastructure have underperformed the broader market over the past year. VRT has declined 6.4% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied nearly 13.5%. In 2026, VRT stock is up 10.2%, compared to the SPX’s 12.3% gains on a YTD basis.

Narrowing the focus, VRT’s outperformance is apparent compared to the State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLI). The exchange-traded fund has gained about 7.7% over the past year. Moreover, the stock’s low double-digit gains on a YTD basis outshine the ETF’s 6.4% returns over the same time frame.

VRT has experienced a volatile yet fundamentally robust trajectory over the past year, characterized by explosive operational growth offset by high market expectations and stock price fluctuations. While the company has capitalized massively on the artificial intelligence boom through soaring demand for its data center power and liquid-cooling solutions, its shares have seen sharp swings, pulling back significantly from earlier highs as investors weigh lofty valuation multiples against macro supply chain and capacity pressures.

On Oct. 28, VRT shares jumped 16.5% after reporting its Q3 results. Its revenue stood at $4.3 billion, up 61.2% year over year. The company’s adjusted EPS increased 78.2% from the year-ago quarter to $2.21.

For the current fiscal year, ending in December, analysts expect VRT’s EPS to grow 70.7% to $7.17 on a diluted basis. The company’s earnings surprise history is impressive. It beat the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.

Among the 27 analysts covering VRT stock, the consensus is a “Strong Buy.” That’s based on 21 “Strong Buy” ratings, two “Moderate Buys,” three “Holds,” and one “Strong Sell.”
