Avient Corporation AVNT is set to introduce its latest high-performance fiber, Dyneema SK80, at the SMM trade fair 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, from Sept. 1-4. The new fiber strengthens Avient’s advanced materials portfolio by addressing the growing demand for durable and reliable solutions in maritime applications.
Dyneema SK80 has been engineered at the polymer level to deliver at least twice the durability and fatigue resistance of the Dyneema SK78 fiber in demanding mooring applications. It will share the platform with other advanced fiber grades used in high-performance mooring lines and offshore marine applications.
The launch builds on more than two decades of Dyneema SK78’s legacy. Avient’s latest innovation reflects years of research, development and testing, along with market feedback, to further improve fiber performance.
By combining polymer engineering expertise with application knowledge, Avient aims to provide technology that can help create a longer-lasting solution. The new product launch underscores Avient’s focus on innovative solutions while strengthening its presence in the high-performance marine and industrial fiber markets.
AVNT shares have gained 19.5% in the past year against the industry’s 0.9% rise.
