BASF SE BASFY has strengthened its presence in the data center cooling market with the launch of its GLYTHERMIN product platform, designed to support efficient thermal management in liquid-cooled data centers. The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence and cloud computing is increasing the need for energy-efficient and reliable cooling apparatus.
As power density in server racks is increasing rapidly, processors and graphics processing units can generate heat loads exceeding 150 kilowatts per rack, driving the demand for direct liquid cooling technologies. BASFY's GLYTHERMIN DC and GLYTHERMIN PG product lines offer complementary solutions for primary-loop and direct liquid cooling applications, helping operators maintain reliable data center operations.
The portfolio combines BASF's expertise in heat transfer fluids with propylene glycol chemistry and advanced corrosion protection technologies. Its formulations are designed to extend coolant service life, minimize inhibitor consumption, and protect cooling systems against corrosion, aging and deposit formation.
The product has also qualified as an NVIDIA DSX Ready Coolant. The product meets applicable NVIDIA PG25 fluid requirements, supporting its evaluation for secondary-loop, single-phase cold-plate cooling applications.
BASFY's global production footprint and integrated Verbund network also strengthen supply and help ensure consistent product quality for customers. The company is further contributing to the development of sustainable liquid-cooling technologies through participation in industry associations and standardization bodies, including the Open Compute Project and ASTM International.
BASFY shares have gained 17.6% in the past year against the industry’s 1% decline.
