FIX shares rose 2.2% on July 23 after the company delivered a blockbuster FY2026 second quarter, with record revenue, sharply higher earnings, and a rapidly expanding backlog. Revenue jumped 50.3% year over year to $3.27 billion, while net income improved 91.4% to $441.6 million and EPS soared 91.9% to $12.53. The company also generated a remarkable $1.14 billion in operating cash flow, more than four times the prior-year quarter’s $252.50 million.

Demand remained exceptionally strong, pushing backlog to a record $14.06 billion, up from $12.45 billion in the previous quarter and $8.12 billion a year earlier. The company’s strong pipeline also left management optimistic about performance through the rest of 2026 and into 2027.

For the current year, which ends in December, analysts expect FIX’s EPS to rise 63.4 to $47.20 on a diluted basis. The company’s earnings surprise history is solid. It surpassed the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.

FIX has a consensus “Strong Buy” rating overall. Of the 13 analysts covering the stock, opinions include 11 “Strong Buys” and two “Holds.”

The consensus is more bullish than a month ago when the stock had nine “Strong Buy” suggestions.

On Aug. 21, D.A. Davidson initiated coverage on Comfort Systems with a “Buy” rating and a $2,100 price target, citing the company’s industry-leading execution, strong electrical and mechanical margins, and significant exposure to rising technology-sector spending. The firm also highlighted Comfort Systems’ expanding modular capacity and new customer pilots as key drivers that could support continued robust revenue and earnings growth.

FIX’s mean price target of $2,114.30 indicates a modest premium of 30.9% from the current market prices. The Street-high target of $2,400 suggests a robust 48.9% upside potential.
