Earnings Preview: What to Expect From Mosaic’s Report

Valued at a market capitalization of $6 billion, The Mosaic Company (MOS) produces and markets concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients. The Tampa, Florida-based company owns and operates mines and production facilities, which produce concentrated phosphate crop nutrients and phosphate-based animal feed ingredients under the Biofos and Nexfos brands.

The company is expected to release its Q3 2026 earnings report after the market closes on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Ahead of the event, analysts expect the company’s EPS to be $0.03 on a diluted basis, down 97.1% from $1.04 in the year-ago quarter. The company has surpassed Wall Street’s EPS estimates in two of its last four quarters, while missing on two other occasions.

MOS stock has declined 36.1% over the past 52 weeks, significantly underperforming the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX) 15.5% rise and the State Street Materials Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLB) 15.7% return during the same time frame.

Mosaic’s lackluster price performance over the past year has been driven by geopolitical tensions and concerns over potash supplies linked to Belarus, amid renewed focus on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. These uncertainties have weighed on investor sentiment, intensifying selling pressure and pushing the stock sharply lower.

Analysts are skeptical of MOS, with the stock having a “Hold” rating overall. Among the 19 analysts covering the stock, six recommend a “Strong Buy,” 11 advise a “Hold,” and two suggest a “Strong Sell.” MOS’s average analyst price target is $25.59, indicating an upside of 36% from the current level.
