For Those Seeking AI Stocks Poised to Soar, This Little-Known Chip-Equipment Maker Is a Good Fit

BE Semiconductor (BESIY), which develops equipment used in chip production, is facilitating a technology called hybrid bonding that is being widely adopted by rapidly growing memory makers and artificial intelligence (AI) chip manufacturers. BE Semiconductor's partnership with Applied Materials (AMAT), one of the world's largest chip-equipment vendors, is also likely to boost shares of BESIY stock over the longer term. In addition to lifting BE Semiconductor's top and bottom lines, the partnership — as well as Applied Materials' recent purchase of a large amount of BE Semiconductor's shares — helps validate the efficacy and utility of the company's technology.

In light of all of these points, investors looking for AI stocks that could climb amid the AI revolution may want to consider shares of BE Semiconductor. Let's take a closer look.

Hybrid Bonding Could Be a Game Changer

High-bandwidth memory (HBM) suppliers are expected to seek a switch to hybrid bonding within the next few years. Moreover, according to Needham, BE Semiconductor may be the only company that enables a version of hybrid bonding which can support an increasingly prevalent type of AI chip packaging called die-to-wafer bonding.

Because HBM is widely used to facilitate AI, the demand for this type of memory is soaring, with companies like Nvidia (NVDA), Alphabet (GOOGL), and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) snatching up supply. Amid this extremely powerful demand, the profits of the three major HBM makers — SK Hynix (SKHY), Micron (MU), and Samsung — are soaring enormously. Accordingly, these memory makers can also pay large amounts to utilize BE Semiconductor's hybrid bonding technology.

Initially focused on BE Semiconductor's hybrid bonding efforts, the partnership between BE Semiconductor and Applied Materials has also grown to include “new interconnect architectures and applications” for AI. In a big show of faith in its offerings, Applied Materials recently agreed to increase its stake in BE Semiconductor to about 20% from 9%.

For BE Semiconductor's future financial performance, that latter development is quite positive, as Applied Materials has a huge incentive to continue partnering with the company and use its technology.

BE Semiconductor Is Expanding Quickly

In the first nine months of 2026, BE Semiconductor's revenue soared 69% year-over-year (YOY) to 718.1 million euros. Orders “more than doubled” over the same period to 905.2 million euros, as CEO Richard Blickman noted on the company's third-quarter earnings call.

On the bottom line, net income jumped an astounding 179% YOY to 247.8 million euros. Putting some of that profit to work for shareholders, the company has now launched a share buyback program with a ceiling of 100 million euros.
