Thus, you can only test your bot or indicator in the correct history zone. This is a very convenient way to use it because testing a bot on a 'bad' history doesn't make sense and filtering just by time isn't correct, so using this indicator is the only correct way to get the correct historical zone to test your bot with. Use on a weekly chart!

The second option for interpreting the indicator readings.

The indicator displays the price transition from one level to another. This can be seen and understood from the second screenshot. Note that the default parameters have been changed, which can be seen in the screenshot, also the timeframe is one hour and not a week as in the previous example. In this case, the work in certain squares and the transition to another square are clearly visible. This can be interpreted as certain price levels, and the beginning of another square as a new price level.

The third option for interpreting the indicator readings.

Using the indicator for clustering. This can be seen and understood from the third screenshot. Note that the default parameters have been changed, which can be seen in the screenshot, as well as the timeframe is one hour. This is similar to the previous interpretation, but we are not tied to price levels, but to the very sections of history as clusters. This can be used as a signal to view the parameters of your Expert Advisor or a signal to close the series in losses or profits. That is a signal in order to view the current state of affairs and make the necessary adjustments. For example, re-optimize your bot.

The fourth option for interpreting the indicator readings.

Using the indicator to search for patterns. This can be seen and understood from the fourth screenshot. Note that the default parameters have been changed, which can be seen in the screenshot, as well as the timeframe is one hour. In this case, we can see a certain figure displayed by the indicator and this can be used as a unique pattern. Through this pattern, you can recognize the behavior of the price after its appearance.

Working with the Displaced Moving Averages (DMA)

1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE TREND RENEWAL INDICATOR

The Trend Renewal Indicator (TRI) is a simple yet very powerful trend-following indicator that works on the MT5 trading platform of MetaQoutes (MLQ5).

The TRI indicator suits small and large accounts, and is ideal for very large accounts. It has been used for decades by fund managers and institutional traders, but never offered to retail traders.

The TRI works with any instrument, including currencies, crypto currencies, metals, hard and soft commodities as well as indices.

The Trend Renewal Indicator combines two trending moving averages and a strong reversal candle to generate a trade signal that marks the continuation of the original trend after a brief retracement. An example for a BUY setup is shown in Figure 1, and a similar example for a SELL setup is shown in Figure 2. Executing a trade after a triggered signal requires further consideration as discussed later; the purpose is to apply the necessary discretion that accounts for possible news announcement and zones of support and resistance.

The TRI can be attached to H1, H4 and D1 charts, but it is ideal for the longer timeframes H4 and D1. In particular, a trading signal on the D1 chart is extremely powerful, and it can produce high profitability rates.

The TRI does no trade too often, but when the signal appears it will have very high probability of success. Ideally, the trader can attach the TRI to all the charts you wish to trade and wait for the signal. The trader can also activate the email alert and push notification to receive the signals as they appear.

2. CONDITIONS FOR THE ENTRY SIGNAL

2.1 Buy Setup

An entry signal appears in the form of an upward arrow when 2 conditions are fulfilled: (1) the fast moving average is above the slow moving average, (2) a reversal candle is formed after a brief pullback of the price towards the 2 moving averages (see Figure 1). To qualify, the reversal candle must penetrate the fast moving average and its head (body) should be small compared with the total length of the candle in terms of a ratio to be specified by the user.

The triggered signal will draw 3 dots on the new candle that will form after the reversal candle (see Figure 3). The first dot will represent the entry price for a limit order (BUY stop) at a price above the top of the reversal candle. The second dot will represent the stop loss (SL) price, which will be located just below the reversal candle. 3. HOW TO USE THE TRI INDICATOR TO EXECUTE TRADES

The trader should be aware of four main factors before executing the signal to increase the probability of success:

1. The trader must confirm that the price is indeed trending prior to the current setup. This is covered in Section ‎3.1.

2. The trader must ensure that signals triggered on a small time frame such as H1 must align with higher time frames such as H4 and D1. More on that in Section ‎3.3.

3. The trader must examine the support and resistance levels near the current price. This is explained in Section ‎3.4.

4. The trader must check any pending news associated with the intended instrument. In this regard, depending on the type of impact the news has, the trader may choose to avoid trading a few hours prior to or after the news announcement. In the case of unscheduled news, the trader will need to manage the trade objectively.

3.1 Confirmation of an established trend before the signal

As indicated earlier, an entry signal MUST NOT be executed until further analysis is made, including confirmation that a trend had already been established prior to the current price structure without much stagnation (i.e., avoid long sideway periods). Since price moves in waves, it is recommended that 2 waves at least must have been formed before entering on the third wave. BUY and SELL examples are presented in Figure 4 and Figure 5, respectively.

3.2 Avoidance of stagnated periods

Price consolidation over a long period may denote overall trend reversal. For this reason, it is advisable to avoid entry when the price lurks for long within a price zone. In other words, the trader must see a reasonable angle between the slow and fast moving averages before executing the signal. An example of failed signals due to stagnation is shown in Figure 6.

3.3 Alignment of small Timeframe with Higher Timeframe

As discussed earlier, the TRI can trade H1, H4 and D1 time frames. It is strongly advised that in trading H1, the overall trend of the H1 chart must align with the trend of both H4 and D1. Moving averages can be used to ascertain this requirement, such that the fast MA is above the slow MA for H1, H4 and D1 for BUY entry and the fast MA is below the slow MAs for H1, H4 and D1 for SELL entry.

This also applies to trading H4 charts where the trend must align with the D1 trend.

3.4 Consideration of support and resistance

The two zones of price within the 3 dots that denote the entry, SL and TP are generally sensitive to nearby support and resistance levels (the two zones are marked in Figure 8). This effect can be summarized as follows:

BUY Signals

• The presence of a strong support zone within the SL zone may be positive for the trade when the price moves downward (see Figure 7).

• The presence of a strong resistance zone within the TP zone may be negative for the trade, since it may cause rejection of the uptrend movement (Figure 8).

SELL Signals

• The presence of a strong resistance zone within the SL zone may be positive for the trade when the price moves upward.

• The presence of a strong support zone within the TP zone may be negative for the trade, since it may cause rejection of the downtrend movement.

Note that entering or rejecting a trade may depend on the exact location of the support and resistance zones with respect to the trade SL and TP by managing the trade (partial closure etc.).

4. PARAMETERS OF THE TRI INDICATOR

A screenshot of the various parameters used with the indicator is shown in Figure 9. Note that only a small number of parameters is needed.

• Points of Entry (in points): How far the entry price is from the top of the reversal candle for BUY or from the bottom of the reversal candle for SELL

• SL points: How far the entry price is from the bottom of the reversal candle for BUY, or from the top of the reversal candle for SELL

• Reward to Risk Ratio: The ratio of the TP to SL from the entry price

• Fast MA Period: Period used for the fast exponential moving average

• Slow MA Period: Period used for the slow exponential moving average

• Reversal Candle Head Ratio: Relative size of the head of the reversal candle to the total length of the candle

• Email Alert: Option to receive notification via email

• Push Notification: Option to receive notification via mobiles

The optimum set of parameters is provided with purchase of the indicator.

5. IMPORTANT TIPS

• As shown in Figure 10, formation of a wick before hitting the entry price increases the probability of success of the trade: the longer the wick, the better the results. Note how the bearish candle formed a top wick before reversing to hit the entry point towards a full TP in this example.

• A long wick of the reversal candle add strength to the signal. See the comparison in Figure 11. The minimum length of the reversal candle can be used as an additional criterion to enter a trade using the standard average true indicator (ATR).

• Generally, risk and money management must be applied during trading. It is recommended to limit the maximum risk to 3% per trade when using the TRI.

• Securing partial profits is highly recommended as part of trade management. Implementing a Breakeven SL may also be needed when the price moves in the favorable direction.

• Opening a new trade close to rollover time is not recommended due to erratic movement of prices around this time.

• Managing an open trade around rollover time may be critical, since erratic movement of the price may hit the SL. Temporary shift of the SL during rollover can provide a solution to this issue.

• Trading highly volatile pairs such as gold and digital currencies is not recommended using the smaller timeframe of H1 due to the characteristic big moves of these pairs. Back and forward testing has shown that the D1 timeframe produces excellent results in comparison.

The Shooting Star pattern is a bearish reversal pattern consisting of just one candlestick. A shooting star forms when the price rises significantly and then corrects, leaving a long wick at the top of the candle. The long wick should be at least half the total length of the shooting star candle.

The Evening Star pattern consists of 3 Japanese candlesticks, the type of which is reversal (the first is light and long, the second is a small any color scheme, and the third is long and dark). Evening star reminds that the downward price movement has been replaced by an upward one. This model is considered a harbinger of price reduction.

The Evening Star Doji pattern , unlike the Evening Star , contains a doji candle (or as it is also called doji) in the figure. The doji candle in the pattern is located in the middle, that is, it is the second candle. Since dodge itself is a good signal, its presence in the model greatly enhances its signal.

The Dark Cloud Cover pattern is signaling that buying potential has been reduced to a minimum and there is little chance that the uptrend will continue.

The bearish engulfing pattern signals an upcoming price decline. The pattern consists of an ascending (white or green) candle followed by a large descending (black or red) candle that eclipses or \"engulfs\" a smaller ascending candle.

The Hammer pattern consists of one candle and is formed at the end of a bearish trend. That is, the meaning of this model is that the decline in the market ends and growth should begin soon.

The Morning Star pattern indicates a bullish mood in the market. Considered a reversal pattern that indicates an increase in price after a sustained downtrend.

The Morning 3 Star Doji formation may indicate a significant trend reversal. This pattern is seen as more significant than the typical morning star.

The Penetrating Line pattern is seen as a bullish reversal candlestick pattern located at the bottom of a downtrend. This figure is often followed by a trend reversal against the backdrop of bullish activity. This formation includes two candles: the second bullish candle opens lower than the previous bearish candle, and then buyers become active, pushing the price above 50% of the body of the bearish candle.

A Bullish Engulfing pattern is a white candle that closes above the previous candle's open after opening below the previous candle's close . This technique can visualize potential support/resistance lines, which can be used as targets.

• forming of a Fair Value Gap (FVG)
• drawing support/resistance (S/R) lines

🔹 Forming of FVG

1 basic principle: when a FVG at the end of the SB session is not retraced, it will be made invisible. (image 2)

Dependable on the settings, different FVG's will be shown.

• 'All FVG': all FVG's are shown, regardless the trend (image 3)

• 'Only FVG's in the same direction of trend': Only FVG's are shown that are similar to the trend at that moment (trend can be visualized by enabling 'Show' -> 'Trend')
-> only bearish FVG when the trend is bearish vs. bullish FVG when trend is bullish (image 4)

• 'strict': Besides being similar to the trend, only FVG's are shown when the closing price at the end of the SB session is (image 5):

'Super-Strict' mode resembles ICT lectures the most.

🔹 Drawing support/resistance lines

When the SB session has ended, the script draws potential support/resistance lines, again, dependable on the settings.

• Previous session (any): S/R lines are fetched between current and previous session. (image 7)
For example, when current session is 'AM SB Session (10 AM — 11 AM)', then previous session is
'London Open SB (3 AM — 4 AM)', S/R lines between these 2 sessions alone will be included.

• Previous session (similar): S/R lines are fetched between current and previous - similar - session. (image 8)
For example, when current session is 'London Open SB (3 AM — 4 AM)', only S/R lines between
current session and previous 'London Open SB (3 AM — 4 AM)' session are included.

When a new session starts, S/R lines will be removed, except when enabling 'Keep lines (only in strict mode)' (image 9)
This is not possible in 'All FVG' or 'Only FVG's in the same direction of trend' mode, since the chart would be cluttered.
Note that in 'All FVG' or 'Only FVG's in the same direction of trend' mode, both, Support/Resistance lines will be shown,
while in Strict/Super-Strict mode:
• only Support lines will be shown if a bearish FVG appears
• only Resistance lines if a bullish FVG is shown

The lines will still be drawn the the end of the SB session, when a valid FVG appears,
but the S/R lines will remain visible and keep being updated until price reaches that line. (image 10)

SessionsToCount (default = 2) — for how many trading sessions to draw the market profiles.
SeamlessScrollingMode (default = false) — if true, the StartFromDate and StartFromCurrentSession parameters are ignored; the sessions are calculated and displayed starting from the current chart position's rightmost bar. This allows scrolling back in time indefinitely to view past sessions.
EnableDevelopingPOC (default = false) — if true, multiple horizontal lines will be drawn to depict how the Point of Control developed through the session.
ValueAreaPercentage (default = 70) — a percentage share of the session's TPOs to include in the Value Area.

Looks and colors

ColorScheme (default = Blue to Red) — color scheme for profile's blocks:

SingleColor (default = clrBlue) — if ColorScheme is set to Single Color, this color will be used to draw market profiles.

RaysUntilIntersection (default = Stop_No_Rays) — defines the way median and value area rays will be cut off when they meet the next trading session's price range:
- Stop_No_Rays — no rays are stopped anywhere.
- Stop_All_Rays — all rays are stopped at an intersection with the price of another session.
- Stop_All_Rays_Except_Prev_Session — all rays except the previous session's rays are stopped at an intersection with the price of another session.
- Stop_Only_Previous_Session — only rays of the previous session are stopped at an intersection with the price of another session.
HideRaysFromInvisibleSessions (default = false) — if true, rays from sessions starting behind the left edge of the screen won't be displayed until you scroll back to them.
TimeShiftMinutes (default = 0) — time shift for the sessions, in minutes. Positive value will move the session start to the left; negative — to the right.
ShowKeyValues (default = true) — if true, Value Area High, Value Area Low, and Point of Control are displayed on the left of the market profile.
KeyValuesColor (default = clrWhite) — the color for Value Area High, Value Area Low, and Point of Control printout.
KeyValuesSize (default = 8) — the font size for Value Area High, Value Area Low, and Point of Control printout.
ShowSinglePrint (default = No) — can be set to Leftside or Rightside and will mark the single print profile — a part of the profile, which is only one TPO wide.
SinglePrintRays (default = false) — if true, single print edges are marked with rays.
SinglePrintColor (default = clrGold) — the color for single print marking if ShowSinglePrint isn't set to No.
SinglePrintRayStyle (default = STYLE_SOLID) — the single print ray line style.
SinglePrintRayWidth (default = 1) — the single print ray line width.
ProminentMedianColor (default = clrYellow) — the color for the prominent median (PPOC) if ProminentMedianPercentage is set to 100 or less.
ProminentMedianStyle (default = STYLE_SOLID) — the style for the prominent median (PPOC) if ProminentMedianPercentage is set to 100 or less.
ProminentMedianWidth (default = 4) — the width for the prominent median (PPOC) if ProminentMedianPercentage is set to 100 or less.
RightToLeft (default = false) — if true, the current session's market profile has its histogram drawn from right to left. In case Session is set to Rectangle, market profiles of all sessions are drawn right-to-left.

Performance

PointMultiplier (default = 0) — the higher it is, the wider are the profile's price boxes and the fewer are the chart objects. You can use it to reduce the indicator's load on CPU. When the value is zero, an adaptive multiplier is used — the indicator attempts to calculate the optimal value automatically.
ThrottleRedraw (default = 0) — a delay in seconds that will be applied before each redraw of the profiles. You can use it to reduce the indicator's load on CPU.
DisableHistogram (default = false) — if true, no market profile histogram is drawn, but Value Area and Median are still marked. This makes indicator work extremely fast, but is less useful for thorough market analysis.

Alerts

AlertNative (default = false) — if true, the indicator will issue the platform's native pop-up alert when some alert conditions are met.
AlertEmail (default = false) — if true, MetaTrader's email alerts will be sent when some alert conditions are met. Email should be properly configured in MetaTrader via Tools->Options->Email
AlertPush (default = false) — if true, MetaTrader's push notification alerts will be sent to your mobile device when some alert conditions are met. Notifications should be properly configured in MetaTrader via Tools->Options->Notifications. This alert type is not available in the cTrader version of the indicator.
AlertArrows (default = false) — if true, MetaTrader will draw arrows on the chart when some alert conditions are met.
AlertCheckBar (default = Previous) — controls the bar to check the alert conditions on. Current — the indicator will check the current unfinished bar; expect a lot of alerts. Previous — the indicator will check the previous (closed) bar; alerts will be delayed but more concise.
AlertForValueArea (default = false) — if true, alerts will be issued whenever a Value Area ray (high or low) is crossed by the price.

Miscellaneous

SaturdaySunday (default = Normal sessions) — how to treat Saturday and Sunday sessions:
- Normal sessions — Saturday and Sunday will be treated as normal sessions with their own daily and intraday sessions.
- Ignore Saturday and Sunday — Saturday and Sunday candlesticks will be ignored.
- Append Saturday and Sunday — Saturday candlesticks will be appended to the Friday session; Sunday candlesticks will be appended to the Monday session.
DisableAlertsOnWrongTimeframes (default = false) — if true, no pop-up alerts will appear on using Market Profile with wrong timeframe/session combination.
ProminentMedianPercentage (default = 101) — percentage of TPOs out of all possible that should occur inside a median for it to be considered prominent (PPOC). For example, if you set it to 50%, a median will be marked as prominent if it contains at least 24 TPOs in a daily session on M30 timeframe. If it is set to 101, no prominent median is possible.

Pivot Lookback : Lookback period used for the calculation of pivot points.
Swing Area : Determine how the swing area is calculated, \"Wick Extremity\" will use the range from price high to the maximum between price close/open in case of a swing high, and the range from price low to the minimum between price close/open in case of a swing low. \"Full Range\" will use the full candle range as swing area.
Intrabar Precision : Use intrabar data to calculate the accumulated volume within a swing area, this allows obtaining more precise results.
Filter Areas By : Determine how swing areas are filtered out, \"Count\" will filter out swing areas where price visited the area a number of time inferior to the user set threshold. \"Volume\" will filter out swing areas where the accumulated volume within the area is inferior to the user set threshold.
