Definitions of Liquidity refer to the availability of orders at specific price levels in the market, allowing transactions to occur smoothly.

In the context of Inner Circle Trader's teachings, liquidity mainly relates to stop losses or pending orders and liquidity level/pool, highlighting a concentration of buy or sell orders at specific price levels. Smart money traders, such as banks and other large institutions, often target these liquidity levels/pools to accumulate or distribute their positions.

There are two types of liquidity; Buyside liquidity and Sellside liquidity.

Buyside liquidity represents a level on the chart where short sellers will have their stops positioned, and Sellside liquidity represents a level on the chart where long-biased traders will place their stops.

These areas often act as support or resistance levels and can provide trading opportunities. (Image 1)

When the liquidity levels are breached at which many stop/limit orders are placed have been traded through, the script will create a zone aiming to provide additional insight to figure out the odds of the next price action.

Reversal: It’s common that the price may reverse course and head in the opposite direction, seeking liquidity at the opposite extreme.(Image 2)

Continuation: When the zone is also broken it is a sign for continuation price action. (Image 3)

It's worth noting that ICT concepts are specific to the methodology developed by Michael J. Huddleston and may not align with other trading approaches or strategies. (Image 4)

🔶 DETAILS

Liquidity voids are sudden changes in price when the price jumps from one level to another. Liquidity voids will appear as a single or a group of candles that are all positioned in the same direction. These candles typically have large real bodies and very short wicks, suggesting very little disagreement between buyers and sellers. The peculiar thing about liquidity voids is that they almost always fill up. (Image 5)

How to trade using this indicator

Although the indicator can be used as a trading system in itself, as it offers information about the Win Rate and Profit Factor, it can also be used in conjunction with some trading systems shown below:

#1 As a confirmation trend in a Moving Average crossing setup

Setup: One fast exponential moving average with 50 periods, one slow exponential moving average with 200 periods, timeframe M5, any volatile asset like XAUUSD for example.

Wait for a crossover between the two averages above. After that, open a position only when the indicator gives a signal after this crossover and in the direction of the trend signaled by the crossing of the faster average in relation to the slower one. Set stop loss at Pivot points for a higher hit rate. (click here for more details)

#2 As a confirmation signal on a Breakout system

Setup: Find the current main trend, draw a consolidation channel and look for breakouts in the direction of it. When the indicator gives a signal outside the channel confirming the breakout open a correspondent position. (click here for more details)

#3 Swing trading on higher timeframes using the inner Moving Average filter

Setup: Add the indicator on a high timeframe like H4 or higher. Use the Moving Average filter, present in the indicator itself. After that, also activate the \"One signal direction at a time\" option.

Open a buy position when the indicator signals it and close it only when a new sell signal appears or vice versa.

Indicator description

In the indicator window draws 4 lines. Two solid lines show actual values, two dotted lines show predictions of the values of events at the time of the indicator data release.

The window also displays two color labels of the forecast lines, which show the value and time of the forecast in the future if this forecast appeared in the MT5 database. These tags help to see the patterns associated with the market forecasting the values of economic indicators (screenshot 3).

There are sometimes errors in the MT5 database due to the absence of a value for the event. In such cases, the indicator shows zero. In order not to confuse the error with the zero value of the economic event, the indicator indicates an error using the arrow of the corresponding line of the color chart (screenshot 4).

To avoid confusion as to which events are displayed in which window, the names of these events are displayed in the upper left corner (screenshot 5).

Strategy tester does not allow to use historical data, because the tester indicator will not work!!!

Setting

To display the display of the event you need in the settings, just set the country and enter its name. The name of the event should match exactly the name in the MT5 calendar in the language that is set in the terminal. You can enter the keyboard. You can go to the event page, double-click it, copy it and paste it into the indicator settings window (screenshot 6, screenshot 7).

Two indicators of each event are displayed in the indicator window: current value and forecast. You can remove one of these lines by setting Visibility of the Plot to avoid overloading the indicator with unnecessary information (screenshot 8).

Economic news is rare, so updating an indicator with every tick is a senseless load on the system. To do this, you have created the Default Update Mode setting in New bar mode. If you need to update the indicator of each tick while waiting for the news, set the setting of Every tick or New bar to True. Remember to translate back to false (screenshot 9).

There are abnormally high or low indicators in the window window, increasing the window scale, worsening the visibility of lower indicators. In this case, it is recommended to use the standard Scale tab. In this tab we limit the maximum or minimum window scale (screenshot 10).
