CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. - Class A Common Stock
CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. is an American cybersecurity technology company based in Austin, Texas. It provides endpoint security, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response services. The company was co-founded in 2011 by George Kurtz, Dmitri Alperovitch, and Gregg Marston. Kurtz serves as the CEO. CrowdStrike went public on the Nasdaq in 2019 and joined the S&P 500 index in 2024.
Crowdstrike investigated several high-profile cyberattacks, often linking them to state-sponsored actors. On July 19, 2024, it issued a faulty update to its security software that caused global computer outages that disrupted air travel, banking, broadcasting, and other services, particularly at Delta Air Lines. CrowdStrike issued public apologies and announced changes intended to prevent similar incidents. Delta Air Lines and CrowdStrike subsequently filed competing lawsuits against each other over the outage.
