The Chill Trader is not designed to perform a comprehensive market analysis, as each trader has their own perspective and trading style. For example, once you’ve analyzed the market and decided to take a buy trade, The Chill Trader ensures that you don’t have to stay glued to your computer waiting to place the order. It helps execute precise entries and manage technical stops.

To illustrate this, think of the trader as a surfer, and each trade as a wave. The Chill Trader is like the surfer who catches the wave at the perfect moment. In traditional trading, traders often miss opportunities because they’re waiting for specific candle patterns or market conditions, leading to poorly timed entries. 📌 What is the Magic Number input for?
The Magic Number is a unique number assigned to each Expert Advisor. This number helps identify and differentiate the advisors you have on your charts, allowing each one to operate independently. The default value is 102, but you can change it within the range of -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647 as you prefer.

📌 Why is it useful?
The Magic Number ensures that each Expert Advisor runs separately, even if you're using multiple advisors on different charts or currency pairs. This way, you can have more than one advisor without them interfering with each other.

⚠️ What happens if I use the same Magic Number for different advisors?
If two advisors share the same Magic Number, there could be issues when trying to adjust Break Even or Trailing Stop Loss, which may cause the advisor to not function properly.

If you have an advisor running on SP500 on H1 with Magic Number 102, you should not use another advisor on EURUSD on H4 with the same number. Whenever you set up an advisor, make sure to choose a different Magic Number to avoid issues and ensure each one works independently.

📌 What is the InterruptorMasVolumen input for?
The InterruptorMasVolumen acts as a switch that adds an extra condition for opening trades. If this input is set to TRUE, a trade will only be opened if the hammer candle has a higher volume than the previous candle. If set to FALSE, the advisor will open trades regardless of whether the hammer candle has more volume than the previous one. Some trading strategies use volume as an entry signal, so this option allows you to choose whether to include it in your strategy or not.

📌 What is the VolumenFijo input for?
The VolumenFijo input tells the Expert Advisor the volume or lot size you want to use when opening your trades. You can choose the lot size according to your preference, but always remember to consider your risk management to avoid trading with a volume that doesn't match your risk tolerance.

📌 What is the BESwitch input for?
The BESwitch input is used to activate Break Even when opening trades. When a trade moves in favor of the trend (e.g., a buy) and reaches a certain number of points (by default, based on the length of the hammer candle's wick), the Stop Loss moves to the entry price. This protects your trade if the price quickly reverses, ensuring no losses if the price turns after moving in your favor.

✅ Example:

📌 What is the TPMultiplicadorBarraMartillo?

The TPMultiplicadorBarraMartillo multiplies the distance of the hammer candle wick to adjust the trailing stop loss. For example, if the hammer candle wick is 10 points and the input value is 3 (default), the trailing stop loss will be 30 points. This distance is applied to the opening price of the candle following the hammer, when the trade is opened.

Risk management is key to being profitable. With trailing stop losses that are small, like 10 points, you will need a higher win rate to be profitable. With larger trailing stop losses, like 40 points, you can be profitable with a lower win rate.

If break even is set to TRUE, once the price moves the specified distance, break even will activate at 10 points (from the previous example). This protects your trades from losses, as in the case of a price reversal, the stop will adjust to the entry price. In the worst case, you won’t hit your \"TP\", but you will avoid a loss from a reversal to the initial stop loss.

📌 What kind of hammer candles does The Chill Trader detect?
The Chill Trader detects hammer candles with a long lower wick and a small or nonexistent upper wick. The parameters are set to avoid confusion with Doji candles. Although customizable settings may be considered in the future, for now, the parameters are fixed.

Who is Toby Crabel?

The Opening Range Breakout (ORB) Trading Strategy

Using this strategy, the trader places a buy stop just above the open price plus the Stretch and a sell stop just below the open price minus the Stretch. The first stop triggered enters the trader into the trade and the other stop becomes the protective stop.

Crabel's research shows that the earlier in the trading session the entry stop is hit, the more likely the trade will be profitable at the close. A market movement that kicks off a trend quickly in the current trading session could add significant profit to a trader's position by the close and should be considered for a multi-day trade.

Extending Crabel's research results it is obvious that as time passes and we are not filled early on, then the risk increases and it becomes prudent to reduce the size of the position during the day. Trades filled towards the end of the day carry the most risk and the later in the day the trade is filled, the less likely the trader will want to carry that trade overnight.

Opening Range Breakout Preference (ORBP) Trading Strategy

An ORBP trade is a one sided Opening Range Breakout (ORB) trade. If other technical indicators show a strong trend in one direction, then the trader will exercise a preference for the direction in which to trade the ORB trade. A stop to open a position would be placed on the side of the trend only and if filled a protective stop would then be placed.

The calculation of where to place the \"stop to open\" would be the same as that for the ORB trade: For longs, the Open price plus the Stretch and for shorts the Open price minus the Stretch.

Parameters

The only functional parameters of the indicator are the following.

Strech Timeframe: The timeframe from which to calculate the stretch (the default is D1).
Strech Period: The period for the SMA used to calculate the stretch (the default is 10).

Learning to use

Just practice the tool in a demo account. Be aware that there are \"one click orders\", which might be very dangerous.

Before you Buy/Sell you have to select the volume by clicking on the blue buttons. You cannot buy/sell, if the volume is set

to 0. By default the volume is reset after 50 ticks to zero for security reasons.

If you click \"Buy\" without selecting a volume you get the following message: Buy() method failed. Return code=10014. Code description: invalid volume

This is an MetaTrader 5 indicator that **detects price crosses with any horizontal line you draw directly on the chart**. No need to manually input levels — simply draw a horizontal line using MT5’s built-in tool, and the indicator does the rest.

**How it works:**

1. **Draw a horizontal line** on your chart using MT5’s native tool (Insert → Objects → Horizontal Line).

2. The indicator **monitors the Bid price in real time**.

3. **Only 1 alert per line per candle** is sent — even if the price touches the line 5 times in the same candle.

4. When a **new candle opens**, detection resets: if the price crosses the line again, **you’ll get a new alert**.

5. **Multilingual**: choose from **8 languages** (Spanish, English, French, Russian, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese). Alerts are automatically translated.

**Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**

**1. Can I use any horizontal line on the chart?**

Yes. The indicator detects **all horizontal lines drawn with MT5’s native tool**, regardless of name or color.

**2. Why am I not receiving alerts?**

- Make sure you have **at least one horizontal line** on the chart.

- Check that **alerts are enabled** in MT5 (Tools → Options → Notifications).

- Review the **Experts log** (Experts tab) for debug messages.

**3. Will alerts repeat if the price fluctuates a lot within the same candle?**

**No**. Only **one alert per line per candle** is sent — no spam.

**4. Can I customize the alert message?**

Yes. Add text in the line’s **description** (double-click → Properties → “Description”). Example: `EURUSD Support`. This text will appear at the start of the alert.

**5. The option to draw lines is not appearing.**

**Solution:**

- Go to the top menu: **Insert → Objects → Horizontal Line**

- Or use the horizontal line icon on the toolbar (looks like a straight horizontal line).

- If you don’t see it, right-click the toolbar → **Customize** → drag the “Horizontal Line” icon onto the toolbar.

**6. Does it work on all timeframes?**

Yes. Works on **any timeframe** (M1, H1, D1, etc.) and any symbol.

**7. Can I use multiple lines at once?**

**Yes!** Draw **as many lines as you want**. Each will have its own independent alert.
