Z-score measures the distance to the mean in terms of standard deviation. If z-score is 0 it is equivalent to the mean score, if it is 1.0 the distance is 1 standard deviation from the mean. Therefore, it is important that the underlaying data follows a normal distribution, which the returns are assumed.

This indicator curve is the thick z-score line (coloured blue). It also shows outliers, if the respective line exceeds it individual standard deviation band it changes colour. At the default mode is exceeding 2 SDs. If turning pink it indicates a pre-warning that a bearish reversal could take place. If the Blue line turns “aqua” it indicates a bullish reversal.

How to use: As the returns are mean reverting, it is more likely if the z-score is high, that there will be a reversal back to the mean. So, it is an oscillator in the general sense. The confidence intervals for 90%, 95% and 99%, are also plotted which can act as probability levels, that the z-score will not exceed that level. That means, it can indicate a reversal. For instances if the curve is close to the 99% line, there is only a probability of 1% that the z score will exceed that line, so a reversal is more likely. Also, the colour change of the returns line (default: blue) can indicate a reversal (pink: bearish, aqua: bullish)

To solve this problem, I studied a lot of RSI and found Quantitative Qualitative Estimation (QQE) indicator. In essence, the QQE is a heavily smoothed RSI. After many test, I change some thing in how QQE calculated as folowing:

1. Base of standard RSI (can change rsi period in indicator setting), I calculate EMA of RSI standard with rsi smoothing period =>( RsiMa)

2. Calculate AtrRsi= RsiMa (canlde before)- RsiMa (current)

3. Calculate MaAtrRsi = EMA of AtrRsi

4. Calculate dar= EMA of MaAtrRsi in Wilders_Period = (inp_RSI_Period * 2 – 1)

5. Calculate lower_line(red_line) and upper_line(blue line) base on dar and rsi ma and rate QQE (default is 4.238). This two line defined band that rsi should inside.

6. Alert buy and put arrow on chart when candle before have rsi in oversold ; rsi<lower_line AND candle current have rsi>lowerline. (opposite to the case of selling)

A minimum of 200$ account is required, but my recommendation is to use an account size of at least $500.

Keep in mind that every legit strategy has losing periods. It is recommended to use every EA at least a few months to decide whether it suits you.

INPUTS:

All the inputs are categorized by sections. In the first one you can change the magic number, comment and symbols. I highly recommend not to add any symbols and leave the default ones as they are. Even though you can potentially get some trades out of adding extra symbols, they will be random and that can blow your account up.

In the second section you can chose when the EA will trade. My recommendation is to keep it on 24/5 and therefore leave this section exactly as it is

Then in the third section you've got lot sizing methods. It is completely up to you to choose risk % or fixed lot. I personally use risk % on balance. That way the lot size gradually increases with the growth of my balance

The last section is for the Breakeven settings. Sometimes, to keep it safe you can turn that on if you feel that TP is too far away. It will keep your orders as safe as it's possible on the Forex market.

The idea behind the setup is the weakness the EUR/CHF shows in the default time.

The trades are mainly closed by counter signals or the set time. In rare cases, trades are closed by the SL.

What is a 'VPS' and why is it necessary?
A VPS is like a kind of virtual computer that stays switched on 24 hours a day. An expert advisor (EA) should be installed on a metatrader account inside a VPS because this way it is as if you leave your computer switched on all the time. This way the EA works all the time, even at night.

What timeframe does it work on?
There is no predefined timeframe. You have to run a backtest and you can choose based on the results and average drawdowns which timeframe you think is best to trade on. I personally have accounts that trade in m1 and others in h1. I can have the RSI in m5 and bollinger bands in h4. These crosses are possible because of an EA. I have never believed in fixed stable EAs, the market is fluid and so we have to change too! I regularly launch optimisations to find the most suitable settings for the current market.

How many trades do you open per month?
It depends on many factors, you can also see this from the backtest. Some settings get you scalping and over 300 trades a month and others only about ten.

What is the average profit
It depends on what your risk exposure is. Personally in phase 1 of the challenges I play aggressive. Once funded or on my small real private accounts I am content to make between 1-3% per month.

What is the RR?
There is no real RR because it operates on a grid without a stop, but with an equity protect. Read below.

What STOP does it use?
It does not have a stop loss but an equity protect. It means that it opens \"grid\" positions with no martin gala (if you want you can activate it yourself, there is the option, but I don't use it). Example: on a 100k prop account (100k) the EP i.e. (the equity protect) I set it around 4000 (-4%) is risky, but it allows me to cushion drawdowns very well. This can also be backtested and optimised. Once funded or on personal accounts I keep a stop between 1 and 2.5% and lower the lottery so that I can have a wider carriage of positions.

Lots
It depends on the instrument and the prop. If I am on my own account every 1,000 euro is about 0.01. So there is no % lot size with this approach.

What are the concrete steps to try it out?
You rent it and try it out. With the quarterly you have access to extra material such as setfiles and video tutorials.

How do I do my first backtest?
Last 3 months, 1/3 forward, real tick and milliseconds matching the speed of your broker on your vps.

What should I test in input optimisation?
Everything. The more data you test the longer it takes to do it. Ideally: pip distance, indicators, indicator periods, max and min buy and sell levels, max drawdowns and lot sizes. You will find reference setfiles from quarterly subscriptions onwards.

What should I look at in the optimisation results?
The highest profit achieved between forward and back with low drawdown and good recovery rate and if you like, also sharp index. Run a single test and see if you come up with two nice steep curves without too many steps.

Actually, most traders use the default parameters of the squeeze indicator. Nonetheless, setting up this indicator does not require advanced knowledge. That is why we can easily modify it to fit our needs. The image below displays what will be plotted on the chart if we use the default inputs. Yet, we can customize the MT5 squeeze by adjusting its different variables like;

-BB length (period): represents the number of bars you want to use when calculating the squeeze indicator.

-BB multiple factor (deviation): represents the standard deviation of the indicator.

Maybe a few words about EA's work. The first orders are to judge the market. Nobody knows what will happen in the market. Later, the expert tries to adapt to the market. In the end, he will try to trap the price. The priority is to close all positions, but the market does not always allow it. Therefore, it will sometimes be content with a partial closure.

As a result of the work, the utility will create a Database File. It is located in the common system folder of all terminals. The utility indicates the exact path to the created File in the message on the chart. It happens that the system folder is configured invisible to the user. In this case, you need to open Windows Explorer, and in it find and set the folder settings setting \"Show hidden files, folders and drives\".

The utility can be installed not only on a working chart, it can also be installed on a non-working market chart (on a day off) - anyway, the Database File will be created.

The Database File contains the fields required to implement most trading strategies:

Recommendations for testing and optimization

The robot can be optimized to work with any trading instrument. An important difference from other news robots is that this robot can be tested and optimized in the strategy tester, taking into account the economic calendar. Testing of this robot taking into account the economic calendar can only be performed if the Calendar Database File is prepared in advance. When testing or optimizing a robot in the strategy tester, calendar events will be read from the specified Database File. Extra events should not be included in the File, as this slows down the testing (optimization) process. All necessary functions are provided in the utility.

If optimization is needed, then this process is preferably performed in 2 stages:

Stage 1. Disable accounting for economic calendar events by setting the Use the Economic Calendar radio button to No. Optimize the parameters of the indicators and stop loss. Save the best option in a set-file.

Stage 2. Enable accounting for economic calendar events by setting the Use the Economic Calendar radio button to Yes. Make sure that the Calendar Database File exists in the common system folder of all terminals. Check that the File is filled with event data for the time period selected for optimization. Optimize the parameters for using the economic calendar with fixed optimal (chosen at stage 1) parameters of indicators and stop loss. At this stage, only two parameters are usually optimized: Permissible time before a dangerous event and Permissible time after a dangerous event. Thus, it is possible to obtain the entire set of robot parameters optimized for the selected conditions. The results should be saved in a set-file that can be used in real-time practical trading.

The results of such optimization will take into account not only the factors of technical analysis of the market movement, but also the factors of fundamental analysis, determined by the market's reaction to significant news. Therefore, real trading using the obtained parameters should provide reliable and stable indicators.
