Cardio Diagnostics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: CDIO ), an AI-powered precision cardiovascular medicine company, is teaming up with the YMCA of East Tennessee to create a customized program to help prevent heart disease among its more than 40,000 members and the broader East Tennessee community.
Through the partnership, YMCA members will learn proactive steps they can take to prevent and detect heart disease early, as well as get access to Cardio Diagnostics' Epi+Gen CHD™ and PrecisionCHD™ clinical tests at a discounted rate. The two are teaming up to address a prevalent problem in Tennessee and across the country: heart disease. It's the leading cause of death in America and accounts for as much as 23% of the deaths across the state of Tennessee.
"We are thrilled to partner with the YMCA of East Tennessee to make cardiovascular prevention and early detection more accessible," said Meesha Dogan, Ph.D., CEO and Co-Founder of Cardio Diagnostics. "By combining education with advanced, AI-driven testing, we are giving individuals the ability to be proactive, to understand, manage and protect their heart health under the guidance of a physician before serious issues arise."
Personalized Insight With A Simple Blood Test
Cardio Diagnostic's PrecisionCHD test is an AI-powered test for the detection of coronary heart disease (CHD) that also provides personalized insights into the specific molecular drivers that could help inform more targeted treatment of CHD. Meanwhile, the Epi+Gen CHD test is designed to assess a person’s three-year risk of a coronary heart disease event, including a heart attack.
Both are physician-ordered and will be made available through Cardio Diagnostics' telemedicine partner's platform. Individuals will have the option to immediately request an at-home sample collection kit or opt to have their sample collected at the Heart Health Fair in February 2026, which coincides with American Heart Month.
Cardio Diagnostics and the YMCA of East Tennessee are also teaming up to provide education, including monthly educational sessions during Wisdom Wednesdays that build upon what the YMCA already offers, which includes programs that promote physical fitness, healthy living and community engagement.
"The YMCA of East Tennessee is committed to strengthening our community through programs that promote health and well-being," said Erin Stidham, Executive Director of the Davis Family YMCA. "This partnership with Cardio Diagnostics allows us to offer our members and the broader East Tennessee community access to cutting-edge cardiovascular testing technology that can truly save lives."
Expansion Underway
The partnership with the YMCA of East Tennessee is the latest example of how Cardio Diagnostics is getting its CHD tests in front of more potential patients and furthering its mission to prevent heart disease by enabling earlier detection through data-driven solutions.
The company recently partnered with 15 new provider organizations across the United States that will make its Epi+Gen CHD™ and PrecisionCHD™ blood tests available to their patients. Cardio Diagnostics said the new provider organizations represent various medical specialties and care models, spanning four major regions including the South, Northeast, Midwest and West.
It’s also making progress in gaining broad access to Medicare reimbursement for its tests. Through Medicare's Molecular Diagnostic Services (MolDX) program, Medicare has issued preliminary gapfill payment rates of $350 for Epi+Gen CHD and $684.76 for PrecisionCHD. Later this year, it will be effective for claims with dates of service on or after January 1, 2025, reports the company. "We view this as a critical step toward expanding timely access and improving care for Medicare patients," said Dogan at the time. Receiving gapfill payment rates is one step closer for Cardio Diagnostics toward receiving broad Medicare reimbursement for helping diagnose and manage CHD.
Cardio Diagnostics envisions a world in which the impact of heart disease is significantly reduced and patients receive personalized care that improves outcomes and the quality of life for people around the globe. While this partnership is but one step in realizing that vision, it’s indicative of where the company is heading.
