Q2 adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 23.8% from 22.6%, while adjusted net income margin declined to 13.9% from 15.7%. Non-GAAP measures exclude specified items and are not substitutes for GAAP results.
- Revenue by service: Q2 Digital CX $150.9m, down 9.9%; Trust and Safety $45.2m, down 2.4%; AI Services $33.0m, up 1.0%. For the six months, these changed by down 5.8%, down 6.9%, and up 5.7%, respectively.

Changes versus prior comparable periods
Revenue fell 7.0% in Q2 and 4.5% for the first half. Management attributed declines principally to reduced spending by existing clients, notably in FinTech, Social Media, Retail and HealthTech, and clients moving work from U.S. sites to offshore locations. U.S.-delivery revenue declined 49.9% in Q2, while Philippines, India and Rest of World delivery revenue grew 2.4%, 19.4% and 51.3%, respectively.
Operating expenses fell faster than revenue: Q2 operating expenses decreased 8.8%, supporting higher operating income. Lower personnel costs, stock-based compensation and optimization efforts contributed to reduced costs. Net income rose in Q2, in part because foreign-exchange results improved versus the prior-year loss; higher financing costs and taxes partly offset the benefit. Financing expense rose to $5.3m from $2.2m in Q2 and to $10.4m from $3.8m for the first half. First-half adjusted EBITDA was nearly flat, while adjusted net income declined 12.7%.
Outlook, risks and unusual items
- Management said macroeconomic uncertainty, client cost-reduction efforts, inflation, interest rates and currency movements affected results and were expected to continue affecting operations in the near term. It also sees opportunities from cost-focused clients.
- TaskUs launched TaskGPT in Q2 and views generative AI as both a potential source of reduced demand for some workflows and an opportunity to provide AI-related services, Trust and Safety support, and technology integration. These statements are forward-looking, not quantified guidance; the filing provides no specific revenue or earnings forecast.
- Foreign-exchange movements materially affected other expense (income). The company uses non-designated forward contracts to reduce exposure; outstanding contract notional was $175.0m at June 30. Management’s sensitivity analysis estimates a 10% move in the Philippine peso could change six-month expenses by approximately $15.4m–$18.8m, excluding forward contracts.
- Income tax expense was elevated: the effective rate was 42.2% in Q2 and 40.5% for the first half, with nondeductible earn-out consideration, GILTI, BEAT and officer compensation among the cited factors.
- The company repurchased 3.6m Class A shares for $44.3m in the first half. Following a $100m authorization increase, approximately $124.8m remained available at June 30 under the $200m program.
- One client generated 19% of Q2 revenue and 20% of first-half revenue. Two clients together represented approximately 29% of gross accounts receivable at June 30.
- Legal matters include a securities class action and data/privacy-related lawsuits. The company disputes the claims; certain cases were pending or stayed, one California case was dismissed in July 2023, and potential losses in certain matters could not yet be estimated. The filing says other ordinary-course proceedings are not expected to have a material adverse effect.
- Key risks include client concentration and contract loss, reliance on operations in the Philippines and India, cybersecurity and privacy, employee costs and retention, pricing pressure, currency and interest-rate movements, and the uncertain effects of AI. Management reported disclosure controls effective and no material change in internal control over financial reporting.
