Investor facts to verify

  • Whether organic growth and margin gains persist, especially as Q3 organic revenue was nearly flat and performance varied considerably by segment.
  • The effect of weaker demand in electronics, construction and specialty products, and whether automotive labor disruptions or regional market changes affect subsequent results.
  • Debt refinancing and interest-cost exposure, including the $700 million of 3.50% notes classified as short-term and due March 1, 2024, and the $1.4 billion Euro Credit Agreement borrowing.
  • The sustainability of cash generation and the balance among dividends, share repurchases, capital investment and debt needs, particularly under the new repurchase authorization.
  • Potential resolution of tax audits and other tax matters; the company said unrecognized tax benefits could decrease by approximately $13 million within twelve months.
