Caixin Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) reflects business activity in China's manufacturing sector. PMI is calculated based on a survey of purchasing managers from more than 500 manufacturing companies.

Respondents are polled to assess changes in production, new orders, prices, delivery times, inventories and employment in the past month.

Readings above 50 point to the business activity growth in the manufacturing sector, and readings below 50 indicate a decline. Growth of manufacturing PMI may affect yuan quotes positively.
