Ameriprise Financial Stock: Analyst Estimates & Ratings

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (AMP) is a diversified financial services company operating in the United States and internationally. The company has a market cap of $50.4 billion and offers financial planning and advice services to individual and institutional clients. 

Shares of Ameriprise Financial have lagged behind the broader market over the past year, growing 8.4% compared to the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX18.7% surge. However, in 2026, the stock has grown by nearly 14.3%, outperforming the SPX’s 12.1% rise.

Looking into it further, the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) has risen 8.6% over the past year, slightly outpacing the stock. In 2026, however, XLF has grown 6.4% and has underperformed the stock.

On July 24, AMP stock rose 1.7% following the release of its impressive Q2 2026 earnings. The company’s revenue for the quarter rose 15.6% from the prior year’s quarter to $4.9 billion and surpassed the Street’s forecasts. Moreover, its adjusted EPS came in at $11.07, also topping Wall Street’s estimates. This growth was supported by assets in Ameriprise’s bank exceeding $25 billion, with lending growing 61% year-over-year, with new products like HELOCs and checking accounts introduced. 

For the current year, which ends in December, analysts expect AMP’s EPS to grow 17.6% to $46.27 on a diluted basis. The company surpassed the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters, which is impressive.

Among 15 Wall Street analysts covering AMP stock, the consensus is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on five “Strong Buy” ratings, two “Moderate Buys,” seven “Holds,” and one “Strong Sell.”

The configuration has grown more bullish over the past months, with the stock now having five “Strong Buy” ratings, up from four recorded three months prior.

On Aug. 21, Raymond James analyst Wilma Burdis maintained a “Buy” rating for AMP stock and raised its price target from $582 to $638.       

AMP’s mean price target of $582.54 offers a 4% upside compared to the current market price. Its Street-high target of $645 implies a 15.1% upside from current levels.
