IonQ Just Nabbed a Quantum Computing Partnership with Nvidia. How to Play IONQ Stock Here.

IonQ (IONQ) shares inched higher on Sept. 23 after announcing a landmark partnership with Nvidia (NVDA) to deploy its quantum computer at the AI titan’s Accelerated Quantum Research Center.

The deal aligns IonQ’s trapped-ion hardware with Nvidia’s CUDA-Q platform, advancing hybrid classical-quantum supercomputing.

Significance of the Nvidia News for IonQ Stock

IonQ’s deployment at Nvidia’s quantum research center represents a massive vote of confidence.

Integrating IonQ’s next-generation trapped-ion architecture with Nvidia’s CUDA-Q open platform and H200 GPUs allows researchers to run accelerated hybrid workflows and generative AI circuit optimization.

This would dramatically reduce runtime compilation, cutting optimization times from minutes to under 30 seconds.

In short, anchoring the company’s quantum processing unit (QPU) into Nvidia's industry-standard infrastructure solves the critical adoption bottleneck, establishing IONQ stock as premier hardware name in high-performance computing.

Note that IonQ was briefly seen trading above its 200-day moving average (MA) today, indicating bulls are attempting to take back control of the longer-term narrative.

What Else Makes IONQ Shares Attractive?

Beyond the Nvidia deal, IonQ shares are attractive as the company’s fundamental momentum continues to accelerate.

Following the recent acquisition of semiconductor foundry SkyWater Technology, management raised its full-year guidance for revenue to at least $450 million.

In-house chip fabrication has accelerated QPU manufacturing cycle times by 3x, paving the way for the newly unveiled 256-qubit Superion platform.

With rapid top-line growth, proprietary manufacturing, and strong enterprise cloud demand, IONQ offers attractive growth potential for long-term investors looking to build a position on pullbacks.

That said, at about 118x sales, the quantum-computing firm is not an inexpensive name to own by any stretch of the imagination.

Wall Street Remains Bullish on IonQ

Wall Street experts nonetheless recommend long-term investors to look beyond valuation concerns and load up on IONQ shares at current price.

According to Barchart, the consensus rating on the quantum-computing specialist sits at “Strong Buy,” with the mean price target of $67 indicating potential for a 60% rally from here.
